We all love a happy ending, and it certainly seemed as if the first season of 'Stargirl' was determined to end on a positive and feel-good note. At the end of 'S.T.R.I.P.E. Part 1' of the finale, Brainwave and the ISA's (Christopher James Baker) plan seemed to have succeeded as he had taken control over all the adults in Blue Valley, including Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson) and Barbara (Amy Smart). But not for long.

Courtney (Brec Bassinger) manages to break through to Pat and says things that he has always wanted to hear: She considers him a father and she tells him that he has always been there for her. Pat fights Brainwave's control and stands by Courtney in the epic showdown with the ISA. The war turns bloody, as Cindy Burman aka Shiv (Meg DeLacy) escapes from her confinement and kills her own father, Dragon King (Nelson Lee). There are some grand action sequences and surprisingly, the untrained and newly-formed JSA (Justice Society Of America) is able to thrash the ISA to bits. The mind-control begins to lift. Yolanda Montez (Yvette Monreal) encounters Henry King Jr (Jake Austin Walker) in the tunnels and is more than pleased to know that he is alive. Yolanda reveals her dark side and then does the exact opposite of what she had warned Hourman (Cameron Gellman), just a few seconds before. She kills Brainwave in cold blood.

A battered Icicle (Neil Jackson) heads to kill Barbara, but luckily for him, Pat and Courtney make it in time and save her. Pat and Barbara reconcile their differences and then Mike (Trae Romano) runs down Icicle and breaks him into pieces? Well, now that he has shown that he isn't afraid to kill, it's assumed that he might just make it to the JSA in the next season.

The episode ends on a happy note, as the family celebrates Christmas. Courtney has accepted Pat as her father at last and gave him a mug that said 'Best Dad Ever', which makes him rather emotional. Yet, there is a hint of trouble, as Shiv is far from backing down and is ready to strike back at Courtney in the next season. She discovers a peculiar glass shard and promises to wreak havoc. Not just this, Shade and Eclipso have been teased for the next season's villains and Starman. So this does promise an exciting Season 2.

Well, for now, all is well, and nobody died....yet. 'Stargirl' has been renewed for a second season and it remains to be seen what chaos unfolds now. The villains are dead, but their offsprings are alive. What will Cameron do, now that he knows his father has been killed by the JSA?
