'Supergirl' and 'The Flash' might be wrapping up their seasons quickly in May, but don't worry CW's 'Stargirl' is expected to take off and shine just as bright. Not expected to be as edgy as 'Titans' or as dark and emotional as 'The Flash' tends to get, this teenage superhero show appears to be a breezy Disney-fied version of the character in the comics. So you can expect a lot of cool superheroics along with some teenage drama. The show seeks to uncover the legacy of the first team of heroes in comic book history, the Justice Society Of America. The series sees Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, who will play the role of Stargirl and Luke Wilson essays the role of her father, Pat Dugan with Joel McHale as Starman.

Of course, you can't have a superhero without a set of conniving villains. And of course, Icicle AKA Jordan Makhent and his son, Cameron emerge as the most prominent, along with a host of others like Brainwave and Tigress.

A million-dollar guess on what Icicle's powers are? He is an ice-bender, who can manipulate, harness and create ice-based substances with the freeze gun that eventually alters his genetics to imbue him with powers.  In the comics, he is known by the name of Joar Makhent and he is a sinister scientist, who designed a deadly ice contraption to freeze his enemies. He killed a man named Lanky Leeds and faked his own death. So people believed that he was dead and thought that the new criminal cohort with the freeze gun that could freeze moisture in the air, was in fact Leeds. However, Alan Scott, Green Lantern, unmasked the real identity of Icicle and this led to an ugly confrontation. Icicle died during the 'Crisis On Infinite Earths'.  His son Cameron, (Icicle Jr) to be exact, inherits the same powers as his father and becomes the main villain in the DC universe. The father-son relationship is a troubled one, with memorable moments of care for each other.

Icicle Jr joins the Injustice League and even battles Batman and Superman. He marries Artemis Crock, who later becomes Tigress and they have a child called Isabelle Makhent.

On the show, Cameron will end up being in Courtney's school for sure and their battles will direct the rest of the season.

'Stargirl' airs on CW, on May 18 at 9 pm.
