Spoilers for 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 7 Episode 11 'Shattered'

The penultimate episode of 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' is here and it is a big one. Picking up after the capture of Darth Maul (Simon Witwer) in the last episode, Season 7 Episode 11 'Shattered' brings Ahsoka Tano's (Ashley Eckstein) world crashing down with the execution of Order 66, the Imperial directive that pushes all Clone Troopers to exterminate their Jedi comrades.

With the final episode of the groundbreaking show releasing on Star Wars Day (May 4), the episode arrives just days before the landmark finale and that's only concentrated the excitement among fans. Over on the Reddit discussion thread for the episode in the subreddit r/StarWars, fans are already celebrating the stellar story of 'Shattered' and preparing for the show's inevitable end.

"This was an amazing episode," one fan declared. "The moment that one officer went 'wanna hear the new orders?' I had to pause the episode to prepare. But what shocked me more was actual audio from Revenge of the Sith being used. This entire arc has been hands down the best in the series. I'm not prepared for the ending... but I don't think any of us are."

"The tension in this episode was top-notch from start to finish... that buildup to Order 66 was incredible," another fan wrote. "Rex shaking and the way he dropped his helmet... that delivery was heart-wrenching. Maul’s fight against the clones... so badass. The way he decapitated those troopers was insane. And Mace Windu dismissing Ahsoka as a citizen was kind of hilarious lol."

Yet another fan wrote, "The sheer sense of dread in this episode was masterful. It was the first idea of what horror in Star Wars would look like—by using the most horrific moment in the movies, amazing. Also, Ahsoka channeled Yoda big-time deflecting all those blaster shots. In terms of pacing it was a quick and brutal payoff. Absolutely not how I expected. However, like the final Maul vs Obi-Wan fight, artistically it works."

"Hearing Mace and Anakin and Palp...Jesus that’s what really drove it home for me," a fan declared. "We’re almost at the end boys."

"My god. This episode was the most unnerving experience I’ve had in recent times," another fan wrote. "It started out so quiet, so calm, yet the underlying feeling that something was horribly wrong grew closer and closer as the beginning dragged on. The heroes had won but something just wasn’t right. That coupled with Maul’s obvious dread and anxiety as he is encased, waiting for the pin to drop was nauseatingly tense. It’s amazing how well this episode captured the true feeling of helplessness as we realize with the characters just how dire the situation is. I also love how they had the actual audio of Mace’s death with Anakin’s horror, and the way Palpatine’s message is delivered, no sound except for Sidious saying Execute Order 66. Chills."

Here's the official synopsis for 'Shattered': "After successfully capturing Maul on Mandalore, Ahsoka plans to deliver him to the Jedi Council on Coruscant. When Order 66 is declared in the midst of her journey, her world is turned upside down. Friends become foes, and enemies become allies in “Shattered” this Friday, May 1st, followed by the heart-pounding series finale 'Victory and Death' on Monday, May 4th on Disney+."

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 7 shall end on May 4.
