After seven seasons, Darth Maul (Sam Witwer) and Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) have their final confrontation, as war rages on around them, and the inevitable end hangs over everything. Fans are left chilled after viewing what some are calling the greatest lightsaber battle in the entire 'Star Wars' franchise.
"The Phantom Apprentice. These four episodes will go down in cinematic history as the best conclusion to an animated series #CloneWars. chills the ENTIRE TIME" writes a fan, on Twitter. "Just watched the latest episode of Star Wars #CloneWars and @HerUniverse @deebradleybaker and @SamWitwer knocked it out of the park! Such terrific voice actors working at the top of their game. Siege of Mandalore is better than I could have ever imagined. Thanks @dave_filoni," writes a fan, thanking the episode's top lead voice actors.
The word "chills" is one that comes up again, and again. "You don’t know what you are doing. You’re all going to die.” - #DarthMaul. ABSOLUTE CHILLS. The fight, the scenery, EVERYTHING," says this tweet. "Just sayin... if you’ve never watched the clone wars just cause you think it’s a kids show, you are missing out on SO much. The chills I got from episode 10," writes this fan.
"I can't say it enough this last arc of the #CloneWars looks amazing. The animation is so detailed and the movement is so crisp. It has come so far it doesn't even feel like the same show in the best way," says this viewer.
Fans had a lot to say about the duel between Ahsoka and Maul as well. "That was the greatest episode of Clone Wars of all time. Chills from start to finish. Maul vs Ahsoka lived up to the hype," declared this tweet. "Ahsoka vs Maul reminds me a lot of Lucas’s quote saying Star Wars is like poetry - it rhymes. Apprentice vs apprentice, failed by the Jedi vs failed by the Sith, light vs dark, but both see the flaws in the side they’re fighting for," notes this viewer.
This episode has strongly underlined the inevitable doom that awaits the end of the series. "OMG I CANT MY HEART NOT READY FOR THE NEXT TWO EPISODES EVERYTHING IS COMING TOGETHER WAY TOO WELL ITS THE GODDAMN INEVITABLE," cries a fan. "Cinematography: spectacular. Choreography: unreal.
