'Star Wars: Resistance' Episode 9 preview: 'Voxx Vortex' sees Hype take the Colossus crew out for gambling
With ‘Relic Raiders’ sending the Aces off to fetch something as vague as “supplies,” it seemed like the Colossus had run out of things to run out of. That assumption was wrong. The crew of the Colossus has now run out of money, and on the next episode of ‘Star Wars: Resistance,’ their only recourse is to gamble what little they have in the hopes of winning big.
The official ‘Star Wars’ site has released a preview of the episode, and it seems like it will spotlight another of the series’ supporting characters. Hype (Donald Faison) leads the crew to Vranki’s Casino, where they meet up with its Hutt owner. “I’m nothing like the other Hutts you may have heard of,” says Vranki the Blue, who is admittedly a lot more friendly and talkative than most other Hutts in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. According to Hype, the casino's been host to enough people to at one time start to affect its gravity stabilizers, and may just be one of the most glamorous locations the show has been to yet.

According to the official synopsis, “The Colossus is running out of money. Hype takes the Aces to race at Vranki’s Casino, run by Vranki the Blue, hoping to win big... or lose everything.”
It’s a rather unconventional way to earn money, and for the practical Captain Doza (Jason Hightower) to even be considering it shows just how desperate the Colossus must be. It’s serious enough to see Captain Doza and Jarrek Yeager (Scott Lawrence) actually take part in the mission themselves. Kaz (Christopher Sean) is on the team as well, though, so it should only be a matter of time before he messes something up in spectacular fashion.
'Star Wars: Resistance' Season 2 Episode 9 'Voxx Vortex' airs on December 1 at 6 pm ET/PT on Disney XD and 10 pm ET/PT on the Disney Channel.
