And, we're back in.... even if it has been one-and-a-half years since we saw Michael Burnham and her crew. 'Star Trek: Discovery' returned with a bang on CBS-All Access and we saw Commander Burnham  (Sonequa J Martin) find herself 930 years in the future on alien terrain without her crew. She is seemingly alone and friendless and cannot gather what has taken place in the last millennium... and it turns out to be a lot.

Thanks to her new friend Book (David Ajala), she learns that the United Federation Of Planets no longer exists ever since the "Burn" took place. The Burn, as Books says, is when the galaxy "took a hard left" and many people died. The Federation was not able to cope with the gravity of the situation and soon everything fell apart. It's a whole new world that Burnham has found herself in and it is a rather a bleak future.

Fans are full of praise for the season premiere of the show and are stoked for the upcoming season. "#StarTrekDiscovery That was awesome. It's about time Star Trek pulled off an Andromeda. But this far is insane. I'd love to know more. I'd love to see more. I'm going to rewatch and catch all the background odds and ends. also blame Iconians because why not," A fan tweeted.

Some found references to 'Star Trek: Picard' and 'Lower Decks', that had aired this year. "Crazy coincidence or sly references, @MikeMcMahanTM? #StarTrekPicard and #StarTrekLowerDecks finales both featuring Riker saving the day. And now, like Boimler, Burnham gets swallowed and spit out by an alien creature in their respective premieres? #StarTrekDiscovery," a fan wrote.

Book is a promising new character that brings delightful flavour to the show, say fans. "I think my favorite thing about That Hope is You is how Book and Michael's stories juxtapose each other yet bring them together at the same time. @iamDavidAjalafits right in at Discovery and gives the strong performance needed to match SMG!  #startrekdiscovery," a fan wrote.

"Book is some sorta...space druid! #StarTrekDiscovery," a fan wrote.
