'I've got bad news': Sports presenter Mark Woodley doesn't hold back on live TV as he reports amid blizzard
WATERLOO, IOWA: Mark Woodley, a sports reporter from Iowa was all ‘cold and hot’ at the same time on early Thursday morning, December 22, when he was asked to cover weather during a blizzard. The KWWL sports anchor’s ‘cranky’ reporting went viral on social media with views hitting over two million on Twitter itself. Woodley candidly posted the clip and captioned it, “This is what you get when you ask the sports guy to come in to cover a blizzard in the morning show,” after he was asked to do early morning weather reporting almost five hours earlier than his usual shift timings. The local sporting event was canceled due to bad weather, and the management decided to use Woodley as a weatherman for the day.
"What better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he would normally wake up and go stand out in the wind and the snow and the cold and tell other people not to do the same?" he told viewers. Woodley added, "I didn't realize that there was a 3:30 also in the morning — until today." As the broadcast went on, the journalist pointed out that his coworker Clint managed to land ‘the better end’ of the assignment chasing a storm and shared with viewers, "I've got good news, and I've got bad news. The good news is that I can still feel my face right now. The bad news is I kind of wish I couldn't."

Eisen retweeted saying, "Proud of this TV work that just showed into my timeline. Well played, Mark."
The sports anchor got some praise from the local Iowa area. Local radio host, Todd Brommelkamp, also shared the clip, and wrote, “You don't get to be a 1-time Iowa Sportscaster of the Year by staying in your lane."
This was my wife’s favorite so far. 🤣 Good on you @ToddBrommelkamp! https://t.co/IPFiFRufPF

Woodley shared Brommelkamp's tweet on his own Twitter page, and tweeted, "This was my wife's favorite so far. Good on you @ToddBrommelkamp!" Interestingly, the broadcaster network also looked at the funnier side of it and shared it on the official website with the caption, "No Woodley's were harmed in the making of the morning newscast."
