EXO’s Park Chanyeol to release solo OST for webtoon ‘She’s My Type’, fans say ‘he grabbed 2020 in his pocket’

A representative from Toon Studio had earlier announced that Chanyeol, Eunji and Standing Egg would be participating in the OST for ‘She’s My Type’

South Korean rapper and singer Park Chanyeol, who is part of the K-pop group EXO, is all set to drop a solo original sound track (OST) for the popular webtoon ‘She’s My Type’. The 27-year-old artiste started trending on Twitter after the news of his new song for the webtoon started doing the rounds of the Internet. According to reports, surfaced on the web, the name of the song has been titled ‘Minimal Warm’.

The song will be released on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 6 pm KST, as revealed by one of the rep’s of EXO. The tweet reads, “201026 #CHANYEOL NEWS Chanyeol’s OST for the webtoon 'She’s My Type' will be released on November 1st at 6PM KST 'minimal warm' is Chanyeol’s first solo OST and is a song that expresses the webtoon’s main character’s personality through it’s lyrics.”

Another tweet by the same individual sheds light on the concept of the song. “Also, Park Chanyeol’s 'sweet yet low voice' is expected to raise (the song’s) likeness with the character while it resembles the main character’s figure, who is in love.”

According to website Korea Boo, ‘She’s My Type’ is a popular romance webtoon created by Roseong. The concept of the webtoon has got so much love from the audience that it has received a rating of 9.9 and has had 200 million views and counting. The same publication had reported in September 2020 about EXO‘s Chanyeol, South Korean girl group Apink‘s Eunji, and popular K-Indie band Standing Egg getting roped-in for the same project. A representative from Toon Studio had announced that Chanyeol, Eunji, and Standing Egg would be participating in the OST for ‘She’s My Type’.

The Toon Studio rep had earlier stated, as reported by Korean Boo, “The lineup of singers for ‘She’s My Type’ has been completed. A total of nine teams have come together to continue the excitement and emotion of the webtoon by releasing music. Please show lots of love and look forward to the music that will be released in the future.”

Chanyeol’s fans erupted with joy after the news of his OST started trending on the micro-blogging site. One fan tweeted, “I’m so excited for this #CHANYEOL.” Another said, “OH MY GOD CHANYEOL SOLO OST COMING NOVEMBER 1 AAAAHHHHHHH.” “Exols hates chanyeol,” said one fan. “I still can't believe we getting chanyeol solo ost. he really grab 2020 into his pocket my baby,” read another tweet.

Korea Boo revealed that other OST’s from ‘She’s My Type’ has been very popular among the fans. Some of the chart-topping releases have been B1A4 Sandeul‘s reinterpretation of Lee Min Hyuk‘s 2015 hit ‘Slightly Tipsy’, ‘Stay The Night’ by Gray featuring DeVita, and ‘The Moment My Heart Flinched’ from Super Junior‘s Kyuhyun.
