GEORGETOWN, SOUTH CAROLINA: A young woman along with her stepfather were shot and killed after an accident. The incident happened on Monday, August 24, when Charles Nicholas Wall went to give keys to his stepdaughter Laura Ashley Anderson in the evening at around 5 pm.

According to reports, the 21-year-old woman accidentally locked herself out of her newly bought home. She recently started living in the house and was selling bunk beds online and someone was going to come over there to get the items.

On the day of the incident, Wall reached the address and as he turned into the driveway of his stepdaughter’s home to give her keys, his car was rear-ended. After the accident, the suspect identified by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office as Ty Sheem Ha Sheem Walters III, allegedly got out of his vehicle and shot and killed the 45-year-old man and Anderson. A third person was also shot in the incident, identified as Paul McConnell but he survived, Blaze Media reported.

The WB-TV reported that when police responded to the scene of the attack, one of the victims had already been shifted to the hospital while an emergency medical technician was providing CPR to the second victim. The 23-year-old accused had reportedly shot Wall at least twice in the head and torso, while Anderson was hit once in the head. McConnell survived a gunshot wound to his left wrist.

After shooting his alleged victims, Walters escaped from the scene and ran into the woods. But was soon caught by the police at around 6:30 pm. He was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and the illegal possession of a firearm charges. He was not given bail.

"It actually happened in her yard, waiting for the keys to get to her,” Lynn Lambert, a close friend of the family, said. “I don't understand how a simple fender bender they called it could turn into double murder and an attempted murder. Why? I honestly didn't think it was real. Who does this?”

Speaking of Anderson, Lambert said, “She was so sweet, always smiling, would do anything for anybody. She wanted to be a teacher like her mama. She was getting ready to start school. She was getting everything in order. Everything was starting to fall in place for her. She won't get to get to get married, she won't get to have children.”

Jenna Johnson, Anderson's aunt and Wall's sister-in-law, said: “They both meant so much to so many people. Anyone who's ever met or known Laura or Nick, they knew two of the most wonderful people. My niece was simply a gorgeous person inside and out. She had a very positive bubbly personality. She was starting school next week to become a teacher just like her mom. She had a very close relationship with her mom, Kimberly, who's my sister-in-law; and she absolutely adored her siblings, especially her little sister Jenna, who has Down's syndrome.”

While the devastated mother of Anderson said, “I'm having to bury one of my children and my husband. It's such a freak thing. I don't know why this would happen. I just don't understand. It's just devastating. I don't know how we're going to go forward."
