Sonia Loja, a Connecticut mother, strangled her three children to death and then hanged herself. The police revealed the cause of the children's death to be strangulation, while the mother’s suspected cause of death is asphyxia by hanging. Married to Pedro Panjon, the pair shared three children - Junior Panjon, 12, Joselyn Panjon, 10, and Jonael Panjon, 5. Now, a chilling suicide note has been made public by one of Pedro's relatives.

Digna Naulaguari, 47, the relative, said Sonia, who ran a daycare out of her home, had long battled depression and had been crying for days over her shut business. Sonia's husband Pedro, was devastated after Wednesday's, July 27, triple murder-suicide and said that he saw no signs of the impending violence. The only time he sensed something was off was when he came back home from work and the kids did not rush up to the door to greet him. Panjon found the two-page suicide letter on the kitchen table, as per the New York Post. Naulaguari said, "The letter read, 'Sorry Pedro, I take my kids with me.'" She continued, "He didn’t read nothing more, he pushed the letter away. He still hasn’t read it.”

Naulaguari explained that Pajon instantly felt trouble when his kids did not come up rushing to the door. She said, "When Pedro came home from work, the kids would always rush out to his car and yell, ‘Daddy! Yay! My daddy came back!’, especially the girl, Joselyn. They would help him bring his things in, like his lunchbox and everything. On Wednesday, he came home, and the door was locked, but the door was never locked. When the kids didn’t come out … that’s when his heart broke."

What was in Sonia Loja's suicide letter?

Naulaguari explained that after entering the house on the day of the incident, Panjon, who works as a landscaper and carpenter, rushed to the kitchen and put down his lunchbox. He immediately found her two-page suicide note which, as mentioned above, read, 'Sorry Pedro, I take my kids with me,' was the only thing that Pajon ever read. Naulaguari told The New York Post, "He didn’t read nothing more, he pushed the letter away. He still hasn’t read it.” The cousin also revealed that her illegal business was already cited by the State twice last month, which further contributed to the downfall of her mental condition. As per the publication, The State Office of Early Childhood cited Loja for operating the illegal day-care center in her home twice last month.

After finding the suicide letter, Pajon rushed to a bedroom where he found his 12-year-old son, Junior Panjon, on the floor and 10-year-old daughter, Joselyn Panjon, on the bed. Both had cables wrapped around their necks, as per the cousin, who also tells that Jonael Panjon, 5, was found in another bedroom in the same condition. As per the responding officers, Loja was found hanging in the backyard shed. Apparently, Loja had reportedly called her sister on Monday, July 25, telling how she hadn't slept in her days due to stress, and her sister reportedly made plans of coming over for barbeque over the weekend. Naulaguari said, "Two days later, and she was no more."
