LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs starrer 'Snowpiercer' hasn't only been about survival in a post-apocalypse world. It also makes a strong commentary on the class divide and relentless quest for power, sustaining the narrative across four seasons.

Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly), who steered Snowpiercer for six years, was forced to step backward when Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) discovered her truth in the first season.

Since then, Andre, Melanie and Joseph Wilford (Sean Bean) have been in a tug of war to take control of the train.

By the end of Season 3, Melanie and Andre reached a decision to divide the train into two parts. She would steer the Eternal Engine and will continue the perpertual journey on wheels, while Andre will take Big Alice to New Eden in search of a warmer spot on Earth.

They also got rid of Wilford, by giving him suspension drugs and leaving him in a small drawer detached from Snowpiercer. However, Wilford's exit from the narrative doesn't guarantee peace in Melanie and Andre's life.

'Snowpiercer' Season 4 starts with a bang as a rocket crash brings Melanie's train to a sudden halt. When Ben (Iddo Goldberg) and Bess Till (Mickey Sumner) deboard to collect the samples, they are ambushed by unknown survivors wearing white metal suits.

We see these unknown men forcefully boarding Snowpiercer. The leader of the group introduces himself as Admiral Anton Milius (Clark Gregg) from International Peacekeeping Forces and demands meeting Melanie.

Will Melanie Cavill lose control over Eternal Engine again in Episode 2 of 'Snowpiercer' Season 4?

The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving fans wondering about the intentions of these new survivors and if they are here to take over Snowpiercer.

While the debut episode focused majorly on the passengers of Big Alice who try to re-build a life off the wheels, we expect Episode 2 to show what happened on Melanie's train after the ambush.

After discovering that unknown men have boarded the train and have held Ben and Till captive, Melanie will likely shut down the access to the engine to prevent these men from taking control.

However, Milius has arrived with a plan and will apply necessary force to take over the Engine. With Andre, Javi (Roberto Urbina), Josie (Katie McGuinness), Ruth (Alison Wright) and Wilford's absence on the train, Melanie will have to fight the adversities alone.

The synopsis for Episode 2 suggests that Melanie will eventually surrender the engine when Milius will threaten Ben's life.

'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 2 will arrive on AMC+, on July 28, 2024.
