'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 2: Is Ben's life in danger? A trap and ambush hints another war

As Admiral Anton Milius holds Ben captive, Melanie Cavill will have to choose between him and the Eternal Engine

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Season 3 of 'Snowpiercer' concluded with Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) and Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) deciding to a avoid bloodbath and navigate their contradictions with peace.

A lot of lives have been lost in previous wars and the two leaders have learned it the hard way that war isn't the solution to their problems in the post-apocalypse world.

However, their peace agreement is about to hit rock bottom in Season 4 as the arrival of a new antagonist would create unrest on Snowpiercer and Big Alice.

Unknown survivors ambush Bess Till and Ben in Episode 1 of 'Snowpiercer' Season 4

Snowpiercer's journey under Melanie's command comes to a halt upon witnessing a rocket crash ahead of them.

Ben (Iddo Goldberg) and Bess Till (Mickey Sumner) take up the responsibility of getting off the train to collect samples of the rocket. However, it turns out to be a trap as a few men wearing white metal suits ambush them.

Towards the end of Episode 1, we see these new survivors forcefully boarding Snowpiercer by holding Ben and Till at gunpoint. The leader of the group introduces himself as Admiral Anton Milius (Clark Gregg) from International Peacekeeping Forces.

Ben might be a bait to gain control over Melanie Cavill in 'Snowpiercer'

Episode 2 will explore Milius's motive for hijacking Snowpiercer. When Melanie realizes the train has uninvited guests, she will lock access to the Engine, keeping them at bay.

However, Milius will most likely use Ben as bait to compel Melanie to give up the Engine.

It would be intriguing to see how Melanie will react to this hostile situation. In the past, she has always chosen the train over her loved ones, be it the time of freeze when she stole the train from Joseph Wilford (Sean Bean) and began the journey without her daughter, or the time when she again abandoned her daughter in Season 3's finale.

This time, Ben's life is at risk and Melanie will have to choose between him and the Engine. Knowing that Milius won't stop even after killing Ben, she will surrender the Engine with the hope of regaining access when the right time arrives.

'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 2 will arrive on AMC+ on July 28, 2024
