'Snowpiercer' Season 2 is all set to premiere in January this year with some new additions to an already extensive cast. The TNT dystopian drama was rated a healthy 61% on Rotten Tomatoes with the critic consensus reading, "Snowpiercer takes a different route with its source material, crafting an ambitious sci-fi mystery with style to spare, but with little of the subversive bite of Bong Joon-ho's theatrical adaptation."

Graeme Manson, Josh Friedman, Scott Derrickson, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements serve as the EPs and the new season will see a massive power struggle aboard the Snowpiercer. Based on the 1982 French graphic novel 'Le Transperceneige' and the 2013 South Korean-Czech film of the same name, directed by Bong Joon-ho, the series is a reboot and portrays the world as an insanely frozen wasteland after a human experiment to cool down temperatures goes woefully wrong.

To survive, Mr. Wilford builds one of the largest and most complex trains in the world inhabited by the survivors. A mammoth 1001-car carriage that chugs around the globe. The finale episode of Season 1 titled '994 Cars Long' saw Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) assume control of the Snowpiercer, but the leadership skills were immediately tested when they realize another train is hot on their heels and takes over.

Known as Alice, Bennett (Iddo Goldberg) and Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) realize the train might have Mr. Wilford aboard. While it was revealed early on in the series that the man was dead, there seems to be a new twist in the tale. Sean Bean is one of the latest additions to the show as the mysterious Mr. Wilford, and joining him are a few other actors. Although Bean and Rowan Blanchard have been listed as recurring characters, the new season will see them play major roles. Here's a quick look at who's playing who:

This one's a no-brainer, but much about his role is kept under wraps. With his arrival, there will surely be a power struggle aboard the Snowpiercer, and this means factions again. The loyalty of the people will be torn between Layton and Wilford. Bean is an established name in Hollywood and is best known for his roles as baddie Alec Trevelyan in the James Bond flick, 'GoldenEye', Mitch Henderson in Matt Damon's 'The Martian' and Ned Stark in HBO's period fantasy drama, 'Game of Thrones'.

Another character introduced in the last minutes of the season's explosive finale. Blanchard plays Melanie's daughter Alexandra. According to IMDb, she is slated to appear in the first episode of the new season. The 19-year-old is best known for playing Rebecca Wilson in 'Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.' Her list of projects includes, 'The Goldbergs', 'Girl Meets World' and 'A Wrinkle in Time'.

Chelsea Harris as Sykes

The 'Station 19' star will be one of the new actors to the show. According to Deadline, Harris plays Sykes, a covert operative and a right-hand advisor to the new leader. The site describes her character as "reserved and cooly efficient." It also added: "She is well-versed in the dark arts of intelligence and, while she seems loyal, one begins to wonder whether she can be trusted at all." Harris is best known for her roles in 'Designated Survivor' and 'Star Trek: Picard'.

In addition, some of the other names include, 'Riverdale' star Tyler Gibson as Driscoll, 'Mistress' actress Carmel Amit and Elaine Kao as Anne.
