'Snowpiercer' Episode 5: LJ Folger might be hated but fans love Annalise Basso and the way the show develops
Spoilers for 'Snowpiercer' Season 1 Episode 5 'Justice Never Boarded'
TNT's 'Snowpiercer' has hit the halfway mark of its first season and any hangups people may have had at the start of the show are long gone. 'Snowpiercer' is quickly establishing itself as an exciting ride and a scathing critique on social injustice and in Episode 5 'Justice Never Boarded', both of those reach new heights.
The episode featured the trial of LJ Folger (Annalise Basso), a rich young woman who is a brutal serial killer. What shocked fans more than anything else was the fact that despite being found guilty of her crimes, LJ's sentence was commuted by Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly), allowing the murderous psychopath to walk free.
"OMG! LJ is a female serial killer who happens to be a clever genius. She chopped off men’s penises and murdered them and trust me, she will do it again," one fan wrote on Twitter. "This won’t end well. I’m scared. This is crazy good! LJ will kill again! #Snowpiercer"
"Damn I cannot believe this, I cannot believe LJ's getting away with it, I mean WOW I can't believe it...#Snowpiercer," another fan wrote.
The Folgers are an excellent caricature of rich white people who always get their way, a fact that has earned them almost universal hatred from fans.
"LJ and her family are the worst kind of people in the world today," one fan declared. "Exploiting their privilege to get their way, and when that doesn’t work, trying to destroy everything around them until they win. #snowpiercer"
As for LJ herself, she's sort of divisive among fans, in that fans hate the character but love Annalise Basso's performance. "There is nobody that I hate more than LJ Folger," one fan wrote while another tweeted, "@AnnaliseBasso you did a fantastic job in tonight's episode of #Snowpiercer 😁❤️"
Like we said earlier, the show really does seem to be getting better with each episode and we have this one fan who wrote, "Personally, I thought that tonight’s episode of #Snowpiercer was the best so far in the show." That's an opinion that a lot of the fans seem to share and we're excited to see 'Snowpiercer' move on to greater heights.
'Snowpiercer' Season 1 airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on TNT.
