This article contains spoilers for 'Snowfall' season 3 episode 5

'Snowfall' season 3 episode 5 saw Franklin Saint get what he wants when it comes to his real estate business with his mother, but does he really know what he is getting into when it comes to expanding his rock cocaine deals into a new neighborhood? The more we think about Franklin's actions in season 3, his intentions have become clearer.

He is in this business to roll in luxury, make money and maybe help build a community as a by-product. The fact that he is destroying his community by selling crack and getting the population addicted to cocaine doesn't bother him, not enough to make him stop at least and that's where sergeant Andre Wright comes in.

The episode also portrays how the rivalry between Franklin and Andre is the beginning of conflict within the primarily black neighborhood of Los Angeles. Sergeant Wright's successfully coordinated raid on Franklin Saint's (Damson Idris) team not only resulted in the capturing of cocaine and weapons but also men from the neighborhood.

These men have families who are not very happy with the way things went down and they can only blame Wright and his daughter Melody Wright. In fact, a sister of one of the arrested drug peddlers attacks Melody by punching her in the face. This is not something Andre anticipated to happen so soon, but it did and this would explain why Andre planned for his daughter Melody to leave for college earlier.

Franklin, on the other hand, is trying to find a way to exact revenge on the Sergeant, especially since he was the reason why Franklin's uncle Jerome (Amin Joseph) was beaten up by a group of police officers. And at the beginning of the episode, we see that he has already found a way.

He gets one of Aunt Louie's (Angela Lewis) friends to pose as a woman who would be interested in the sergeant and has her steal his weapon after drugging him. However, when Wright reports the set up to the department, the same people who helped him organize the raids turn their backs on him.

He is referred to Internal Affairs for possibly doing drugs with the woman and at the meeting with agents from Internal Affairs he ends up having to defend himself for making certain decisions in the past -- like holding Aunt Louie in a cell without proper papers and having her urinate in a wastebasket.

Notwithstanding the fact that Andre might have just begun a war within the community, it looks like he is not ready to rest until he puts Franklin Saint behind bars. He gets suspended for losing his firearm, and so he teams up with another cop for his own revenge and getting his daughter out of town is the first step.

He also tells his partner to get his family out of town for a while. Even as the cat and mouse chase between Franklin and Andre continues, Reed Thompson aka CIA agent Teddy McDonald has to find a way to get the Colombians to cooperate with the Mexicans and continue drop-offs for the rocks.

The only problem is the fact that Reed needs to become a partner with the Colombians and start a club together. While he doesn't take this seriously in the beginning, he is forced to rethink the whole thing now that his carefully made plans may possibly fail.

How Reed's dealings with the Mexicans and Colombians tie into Franklin's business is something that will be explored further in the upcoming episodes.

'Snowfall' episode 6 airs Wednesday on FX at 10 p.m. ET.
