'Sisyphus: The Myth' Episode 5: Tae-sul will save Seo-hae only to part ways later, is this the start of a war?
'Sisyphus: The Myth' Episode 4 ended with Tae-sul (Cho Seung-woo) concocting a dangerous plan to ensure that both he and Seo-hae (Park Shin-hye) can escape from the Control Bureau. He suggests to Seo-hae that the two of them should be brave and jump into the river instead of getting caught by the Control Bureau.
Initially, Seo-hae is shocked but soon enough, she is on board and even agrees to hold on to him but just as they jump, she gets shot and ends up sinking to the bottom of the river, It is Tae-sul who ends up saving her, but not to stay with her, but to ensure that she is okay and part ways with her.

After the two of them survive the fall into the river, Tae-sul gives Seo-hae a lot of money and tells her that it is time for the two of them to part ways. He believes that they might not only attract a lot of attention but also that they might get caught by the Control Border soon. He also learns that the technology he created in teleporting things, will end up starting a war. She plans on stopping this war even before this starts by stopping Tae-sul from creating the uploaded in the first place.
This, she believes will stop the war and help her solve her regret. After all, the reason she was able to come from the other side is because of her regret. It may be connected to her mother because the one thing that she had been most worried about when she was teleported to Earth was her mother. While Tae-sul tries to shake her off despite knowing the seriousness of the situation, she truly believes that only she can save him from any danger that he would face from an organization called Sigma.
Tae-sul too ends up having a recurrence of his anxiety attack and this time, he is out of medicines to help him. His friend has also become the ally of the Chairman of Quantum Time and has betrayed him, so has his ex-girlfriend. So the only one who will be able to help him at all is Seo-hae and that is how we will see the two end up working together again. After all, we did see how the war had left the city with nothing but skeletal remains of what was once a vibrant place.
'Sisyphus: The Myth' airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9 pm KST on JTBC and can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
