'Single's Inferno' Season 2: Lee So-e heartbroken again as Jo Yoong-jae reveals he wants to talk to all women
SASEUNGBONG-DO, SOUTH KOREA: During the Season 2 premiere of 'Single's Inferno,' Lee So-e was observed not socializing much, with some obvious difficulty to initiate conversations. As a result, she received no postcards offering a shot at Paradise. When the second batch of new episodes of the show was released on Netflix this week, we were hoping that things would work out for her, but in vain.
Jo Yoong-jae was the only person So-e shared her feelings with on the show. However, Yoong-jae picked Choi Seo-eun over her. Yoong-jae decided to have a one-on-one conversation with So-e this week in order to get to know her better. But when it came to choosing someone to accompany him to Paradise, he overlooked her once more.

In the new episodes, Yoong-jae is seen inquiring about So-e's interest in him. He was wondering whether she wanted to get to know him more now that they had chatted a little. So-e confesses that she is intrigued by him. She had been completely focused on the same individual since her first impressions and was never confused. Yoong- jae's interest in people, on the other hand, kept shifting. He says that he sees the Inferno as a process to determine who he likes, right up until the end. They both believe they should talk to more people, something Yoong-jae has previously admitted. It was first all women, but it did narrow down for him. When So-e asks if Yoong-jae is interested in her, he acknowledges his feelings. But even if they do talk, the things they can discuss are restricted, so he wants to have conversations with people without limits. He goes on to say that So-e is one of those people. After their chat, So-e gained confidence and hoped that she would be chosen to go to Paradise, ideally by Yoong-jae. Even after the arrival of the newcomer, Kim Jin-young, who had all the women's (and men's) heads turned, So-e appeared to be fixated on that one individual.
To everyone's surprise, Yoong-jae chose Lee Nadie (who was already on her way to Paradise with Shin Dong Woo) over So-e. The MCs believed that he chose someone with whom he had no connection on purpose. So-e and Yoong-jae had a 100% probability of going to Paradise together, especially after her confession. But he ignored her in order to avoid going. So-e felt "literally abandoned" after pouring her heart out to Yoong-jae.
When So-e walked to the men's tent to check who had been left behind, she was astounded to find Yoong-jae, and he was astounded to see her! So-e told the folks who remained that she voted with her heart, without basing her decision on the sentiments of the other person and risking rejection. She appeared to be opening up her heart again in the presence of Yoong-jae, who was listening from afar. He added that when it came to choosing who he wanted to take to Paradise, he gave it a lot of thought. It was critical for him to consider 'himself.' When the others inquired why he appeared so 'restless,' So-e jumped in, reminding Yoong-jae that it was his first time being rejected - probably as a sneaky jab at him.
Nevertheless, he does not admit he was rejected; he believes they were not a good match. Finally, So-e soothes a sad Choi Jong Woo by saying "sincerity works." Later, behind the cameras, So-e breaks down. She states in a voiceover that it doesn't matter if she is rejected because she can't control how people feel. However, she admits to being heartbroken. She says in a confessional, "Seeing how I expressed my feelings to Yoong-jae, and he didn't choose me. He could have purposely made a different choice. Thinking of his relationship with Seo-eun, whom he went to Paradise with before. Or it could have been because I didn't approach him more actively. There could be many reasons, but...it hurt my feelings. It hurt, but people's hearts can't be helped." So-e was earlier seen speaking as if she was comforting Jong-woo, but she was actually talking to herself. She was constantly smiling in front of the others yet crying when not in front of the camera. The MCs felt Yoong-jae just isn't right for So-e.
Yoong-jae's politeness won So-e over as he assisted her in the kitchen while preparing meals for the folks left on the beach. So-e pulled Yoong-jae away after dinner for a private talk. She stated, "People really can't help having expectations. And I tried to tell you that by saying to you that I'm curious about you. And I'm not saying that just because you don't choose me. I'm going to burden you with, 'Why won't he acknowledge my feelings?' I'm just saying that's how I felt. But I felt like you have...different values in terms of dating here." Yoong-jae acknowledged being careful while making decisions. True, he is intrigued by or "want to at least talk with all the women here."
So he believes it is appropriate to meet them all - given it's feasible and he gets the opportunity. And while So-e respects his choice, she felt it would be good if she could be a part of it at least once. She also wished she was one of the individuals that piqued his interest. She added, embarrassingly, that she has not had the same sentiments returned by someone she has openly said she likes. "And it's a little sad." She reasoned that she should be true to herself and act accordingly. This means she would never want Yoong-jae to feel under pressure. He admits to being nervous, but thanks her for relieving him of the burden. He also admits that based on their previous conversations, he suspected she had chosen him. Hence, he was cautious throughout the dinner since he was afraid she might be disappointed or upset with him. She admits to being upset. He admits he may not change his mind completely, but he will attempt to look at things differently.
