‘She'll be named after Lib’: Delphi murder victim Libby German’s sister Kelsi announces pregnancy
DELPHI, INDIANA: Delphi murder victim Libby German’s sister, Kelsi, spoke out months after killer Richard Allen’s arrest to announce the news of her pregnancy. She posted an Instagram story showing her baby bump with a caption that read, “I always said I was gonna take a much needed break after an arrest was made. I never excepted [sic] to spend it preparing to become a family of three.”
“It's seen [sic] such a blessing to have this time,” Kelsi shared. “Thank you for being here and sticking by me through it all. I appreciate all of you so much,” she added. Libby and her best friend Abby Williams were found dead on an abandoned railroad in Delphi, Indiana, after disappearing on a hike at the Monon High Bridge Trail in February 2017. Allen was arrested over Libby and Abby’s murders in October 2022, nearly five years after the tragic killing.

Kelsi will ‘partly’ name her child after Libby
In further Instagram updates, Kelsi shared she was 27 weeks pregnant and that she is expecting a girl child. She also mentioned that her daughter will be partly named after her deceased sister. “It’s a girl! She will partly be named after Lib,” Kelsi wrote.
The pregnancy announcement comes after Kelsi posted a series of photos of a hiking trail in February commemorating her sister Libby and the latter’s friend Abby on their sixth death anniversary at the location where they were last seen before being killed. “Our yearly walk,” Kelsi captioned her post alongside a heartbreak emoji.
Back in October 2022, Kelsi tweeted, “Today is the day,” following Allen’s arrest. “We got him. October 28th was the day,” she later shared. She also took to Instagram to share an official statement about Allen’s arrest from Caroll County. “October 28, 2022,” Kelsi simply captioned the post at the time.
‘Grief doesn’t have an ending’
In one of her recent Instagram stories, Kelsi also opened up about her feelings after Allen’s arrest. “I’ve felt a lot of peace since the arrest. But also a lot of hurt, I tricked myself into believing I was done grieving,” she said. “The truth is – grief doesn’t have an ending,” Kelsi added. “So when the arrest happens it brought a lot of feelings back that I hadn’t let myself feel as well as new ones that I am still working myself through,” she shared.
Kelsi was reportedly one of the last persons to see her sister alive as she drove Libby and Abby to the hiking spot from where they went missing, The Sun reported. Nearly five years after the Delphi murders, authorities had a breakthrough in the case after they connected Allen to the killings based on witness statements and a Snapchat video found on Libby’s cell phone. Allen was charged with two counts of murder on October 31, 2022.
