Shedrica Odessa Smith: Detroit driver charged with INTENTIONALLY killing woman in hit-and-run
A Detroit woman has been charged with murder after she 'intentionally' ran over Tiffany Watson-Vance with her SUV, killing her, in Detroit on March 20. According to the police, the woman, identified as Shedrica Odessa Smith “viciously attacked” Tiffany amid an ongoing altercation on Manning Street, near 7 Mile Road and Hayes Street. The incident was captured on video. The crossover that was used to kill White was described as a 2020 gray or silver Nissan Murano with a Minnesota license plate FDY246.
Tiffany was reportedly found lying in the street with tire marks around her body by responding officers. She was taken to the hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries on Monday. Tabitha Watson, her sister, told that Tiffany died a 'hero' after pulling her 10-year-old son out of the way of the approaching car in the final minutes before the accident.

The altercation
Detroit police said two groups of people were gathered at the location due to an ongoing dispute that soon escalated into a fight. Shedrica Odessa Smith, 31, reportedly first sped away from the scene, before circling back to plow into Tiffany, before then driving away again to flee. Police think Tiffany was just a bystander — she was standing there with her son — and not involved in either of the groups.
"It appears that the victim was a bystander, but she was clearly in the path of the vehicle, and there was no attempt by this person of interest to avoid her," Detroit Police Chief James White said.
Shedrica Odessa Smith has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of assault with intent to murder.
Tiffany's adult daughter Gatoria Bubrowski spoke to local news channel WDIV4 and said: "My mama was all I had... and now she go."
She said, "I was standing right on that porch over there and had to watch my own mama get hit by a car. Holding her in my hands I couldn't do nothing else. She wasn't moving her eyes was close she wasn't responding to nothing I was saying."
“Everybody loved her cooking, her smile, she woke up every morning happy,” Bubrowski said.
Watson-Vance's relatives were struggling to afford the funeral costs for her, according to a GoFundMe statement: "unfortunately she did not have burial insurance. The family is in dire need of funds to assist with her burial and to help take care of her children. Her sister, Tabitha, is assisting in making final arrangements and would be truly grateful for any donation." As of now, it raised $2,326 out of $10,000 pledged from 49 donations.
