With 'Black Adam' in development and working towards a crossover, however, the Shazam family will have to learn how to work together both as a family and as a superhero team to deal with whatever comes next. Stay tuned to this page for news, trailers, casting announcements and everything else you need to know about DC's most family-friendly live-action superhero sequel.
'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' is set to release on November 4, 2022.
'Shazam!' is the story of a young boy named Billy (Asher Angel) who is granted the power to transform into the superhero known as Shazam (Zachary Levi). In order to defeat one of his enemies and keep his adoptive family safe, Billy shares the power with his six foster siblings, granting them all the powers of Shazam. While the plot for the second film has not yet been revealed, it is confirmed that the 'Black Adam' film starring Dwayne Johnson will be building up towards a crossover with the franchise.
Zachary Levi returns as the titular Shazam — the adult superhero that Billy Batson transforms into when he says "Shazam!". Zachary Levi got his big Hollywood break starring in the action comedy 'Chuck', which ran for five seasons and was beloved by its fans. He then went on to star as the voice of Fylnn Rider in the film 'Tangled', as well as the animated series, plus more serious live-action roles in 'Heroes Reborn' and 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel'.
Asher Angel plays Billy Batson, a boy who was abandoned by his mother and spent the next several years in and out of the foster system before finding a family and a place he could call home. Angel is a pop star in his own right and as an actor is known for his roles in 'Andi Mack' and 'Criminal Minds'.
Jack Dylan Grazer
Jack Dylan Grazer plays Freddy Freeman, Billy's handicapped brother who now also has access to the powers of Shazam. Grazer is known for his roles on the rebooted 'It' series, 'We Are Who We Are' and 'Me, Myself and I'.
The film will also see the return of the rest of Billy's family including Faithe Herman as Darla, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi and Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña.
