'Married At First Sight' is either cute to watch or an absolute train wreck. On one hand, there's a chance you might get to see a couple fall slowly, but surely in love, or you might witness two individuals tearing each other to shreds. But one thing is for sure — it makes for great TV. For those couples who do brave it all, the big question remains, just how long are they going to make it last?

If you're curious to know what past MAFS couples have been up to, then get ready for Season 2 'Married at First Sight Couples Cam'. A self-shot series, 'Couples' Cam' gives us a look at the 'MAFS' couples lives — from dealing with a pandemic to working on their relationship and in some cases, taking care of their growing families.

This season, we get a glimpse into the lives of Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre, as they continue to take care of their daughter while working on their marriage.

Jackson is an entrepreneur and Pierre is a teacher

Apart from her career as a reality TV star, Jackson is an entrepreneur and a cosmetologist. She designs wigs under the brand name YSS, which began from her beauty consulting brand Yes Shawniece Styles. Jackson is quite passionate about what she does and continues to run her business. Her Haitian-American husband, Jephte Pierre is also a reality TV star. The oldest of 14 children, Pierre was born in Haiti. He currently works as a teacher.

The couple had a rocky start

Love, at first sight, isn't always something that works for everyone. And while some 'MAFS' couple feel the spark instantly, for others, it takes longer than expected. For Jackson and Pierre, the latter was the case. While Jackson was ready to get on board with being a wife, Pierre was not sure about their relationship, which led to quite a rocky start for the two. Pierre found it rather difficult to open up to his new wife.

He even refused to sleep in the same bed as her, initially. There was hope on the horizon soon after their season aired, however, seeing that the couple announced that they were, in fact, expecting a child together. However, when they showed up the spin-off 'Married At First Sight: Where Are They Now' sans their rings, there was a lot of questions.

The couple insisted that they were still together, however, their energy was entirely directed towards co-parenting their daughter and their lack of rings was not an indication of their separation. When asked about it by host Kevin Frazier, Jackson responded with an explanation.

“So I think, yes, a ring symbolizes something to the outside world, but our commitment is beyond the rings. And we’ve been committed to each other since we came back and said, 'Let’s do this'." The couple seems to have braved it all, seeing that they frequently post about each other on social media, like this image in particular.

The caption read: "Year! Three years in marriage, three years in learning and growing together, shit three years in just knowing each other (thank you MAFS) 🤣🤣can’t wait for what year 4 has in store for us. Love you @yessstyles_". Aww!

They have a daughter together, Laura Denise

While their marriage has its fair share of rough patches, both Jackson and Pierre prioritize their daughter above all else, seeing that they've always put parenting above all else. However, they are quite aware that their relationship needs work and that it goes beyond just being parents.

"We don’t want the baby to turn 18 and then she leaves and we’re looking at each other like, ‘We don’t know who we are without the baby.’ That was one of our fears,” Pierre said about the same on 'Married At First Sight: Where Are They Now'.
