Todd Endriss was always passionate about surfing. But he didn't know that the year 2007 would change his life forever. He went out surfing with his friends one day in California. This is when he saw a big white shark and before he knew it, he was just flung.

Everything happened so quickly, and he says that he never even saw the shark open its jaws. But it took a chunk out of his surfing board and it finally got to him, and he saw the water turn red. It was one of the most terrifying moments of his life and Todd gets visibly emotional when talking about the experience as he recalls the encounter. He knew he was prey. He was being eaten alive as the shark almost swallowed his right leg.

Todd is one of the three people who share their experiences of almost being eaten alive by sharks and how they were able to recover from the trauma that followed. 'I was Prey: Terrors From The Deep' is an episode that will air on Discovery Channel. The official synopsis reads: "A California surfer, a Canadian thrill-seeker, an Alabama football coach and a mother from North Carolina reveal how they each came face-to-face with the ocean's top predator sharks and lived to tell their stories."

There's no doubt that sharks are considered one of the most deadliest and feared predators of the ocean and no wonder there are several films made about them. Of all the sharks, great white shark was specially made famous after Steven Spielberg's 'Jaws' released in 1975 and many people decided to go hunt sharks for their own amusement. Nevertheless, there are a lot of facts about sharks that we get wrong, and so, Discovery's Shark Week is a crucial attempt to spread awareness about the different kinds of sharks as well as help their conservation. While we learn about the Great White Sharks in 'Great White Double Trouble', we are about to learn about the deadly experiences people have had with the animal.

Tune in to Discovery Channel on Saturday at 11 pm ET.
