‘Shark Tank’ Season 12: How Barbara Corcoran bagged $250,000 deal for vegan Chicken Salt with sassy Botox remark
The pitches on ‘Shark Tank’ are as interesting as they can be. This time around, JADA Spices presented a completely-vegan set of seasonings for chicken salt and turmeric salt. Touted as a “healthy alternative” to table salt and chicken bouillon, the company also boasts of a new plant-based Chick’n Mix that does not require refrigeration.
Khasha Touloei and Maynard Okereke were willing to offer 20 percent equity in their company for an investment of $250,000. While all other Sharks rejected their idea on the basis of how both had full-time jobs — while Khasha is a physician, Maynard is an engineer — Barbara Corcoran said she doesn't care if they have full-time jobs as long as they put all their effort into this one. She offered them an investment of $250,000 but for a 33% stake.
Seeing how they got a thumbs down from all other Sharks, Khasha and Maynard said yes to Barbara, and to top that, her sassy comment on how she's "had so much Botox on her face..." Back in January 2019, she posted a picture on Instagram and wrote, "Here’s what 1 facelift, a gifted makeup artist, a new colorist, and a new stylist gets you...TEN YEARS!"
With a rags-to-riches story, she turned $1,000 into a billion-dollar business and fought skin cancer. To remove the skin from her upper lid to patch below her eye, she got a treatment done and as per a Glamour Fame article, Dr Alexander Rivkin, the founder of 'Westside Aesthetics', discussed that "the 'Shark Tank' star might have tried a treatment of 'Profound', which is a microneedle radiofrequency device that costs about $4,000 to $7,000 per session."
After getting the deal, Barbara posted a string of tweets. "There's nothing that makes us Sharks happier than food in the tank, and this chicken is delicious!" she wrote, adding, "Don't you dare let anyone kill your dreams. There's power behind every insult, and you can take it and prove the world wrong. It's not easy to manage a full-time job and a new business, but when you love something you make it work."
She then posted, "Welcome to the family, @JadaBrands! The other Sharks will be salty when they see how much money we make! @ABCSharkTank #SharkTank."

Barbara is soon becoming the thirst queen on the show. Remember how in one of the previous episodes, Barbara was drawn in once Juan ripped his shirt off to prove how he's a bodybuilder and personally consumed P-Nuff Crunch to help him get his dose of protein and maintain his impressive physique.
Shedding light on their experience in ‘Shark Tank’, the founders of JADA Spices said, “From creating our seasoning blend from scratch in an apartment while doing a residency to traveling to Chicago to demo at our first-ever vegan festival to now being able to present our business to a panel of billionaire moguls on Shark Tank.” They added, “The rush of adrenaline we experienced at this moment was a culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice.”
