Who is Sharae Becton? North Carolina woman arrested after child shows up at school with 260g cocaine
NEW BERN, NORTH CAROLINA: A school resource officer from Craven County Sheriff's Office discovered substantial amounts of cocaine in possession of a child at an elementary school. On March 30, 2021, the officer found packets of illegal drugs in the book bag of a child at Trent Park Elementary School. Upon further investigation, the drugs were identified as cocaine and the amount in possession of the child was quantified at over 260 g.
Craven County Sheriff's Office posted that they have arrested 27-year-old Sharae Monique Becton in connection with the offense. A resident of Railroad Street from New Bern, North Carolina, Becton has been charged with "felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent sell/deliver cocaine, and misdemeanor child abuse," the police revealed.

"After further investigation, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Bureau identified the drugs as over 260 grams of cocaine. Sharae Monique Becton, 27, of Railroad Street New Bern, N.C. is charged with felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent sell/deliver cocaine, and misdemeanor child abuse for allowing the child to possess over 260 grams of cocaine."
Who is Sharae Becton?
Police are yet to comment on the relationship between Sharae Becton and the child who was found with the drugs at school. A photo shared by the Craven County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page shows the cocaine wrapped within a vacuum-sealed plastic bag, which was found inside a blue Jansport backpack carried by the child to school.
A Facebook profile that is believed to belong to the woman, reveals that she works in Sales at Walmart. Her account also shows that she attended New Bern High School in Craven County.
Becton has shared several photographs of a girl child who might be her daughter, as presumed from the comments on the photos, though there is no conclusive confirmation.
