Shaquella Robinson: Woman sent 'heartbreaking' texts to family 24 hours before being killed while holidaying in Mexico
CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO: Shanquella Robinson left for Mexico on October 28, 2022, but died the following day in a lavish Cabo San Lucas property. Shanquella's family's attorney claims that less than 24 hours before she died, she sent heartbreaking messages to her family members from Mexico.
Attorney Sue-Ann Robinson, who is representing Shanquella's family but is unrelated to them, has submitted a petition to the White House asking for a diplomatic intervention in the matter. Shanquella's autopsy revealed that the 25-year-old died from a broken neck while on vacation with friends after sustaining a head injury. Sue-Ann recently traveled to Mexico to monitor the case's development and to assist the Robinson family.

What was the last message Shanquella Robinson sent to her family members?
Sue-Ann said, "From going there, from going to the place, from going to the villa, it is so ironically just such a beautiful, peaceful, tranquil place. Driving there, I just was overwhelmed with the emotion just thinking of how excited she must’ve been, how she was looking forward to hanging out with people, and just enjoying the place," according to the Sun.
Sue-Ann added, "Then knowing she didn't get to enjoy it - less than 24 hours - is just extremely sad." She claimed that Shanquella had spoken to her family just a few hours before she died unexpectedly. "She was sending them just pictures, letting them see the villa she was in," she stated.
Why hasn't anyone been put under arrest yet?
There haven't been any publicized arrests in the five months after Shanquella's death. Sue-Ann visited Cabo earlier this year in an effort to learn more about the case. The trip was described as a "fact-finding mission" by the attorney in a letter to the White House that the Sun was able to obtain.
Sue-Ann stated, "It was a surreal experience in the sense that I've been an attorney for almost 17 years. I'm a former prosecutor, criminal defense attorney. I have never had to physically go to another country to investigate on behalf of any family."
Sue-Ann added, "So it was unreal in that regard because the lengths that this family has had to go through while trying to grieve a loved one, but also seek justice on behalf of the loved one at the same time... it's a very heavy burden. I always say that I'm amazed at how they've put their shoulder to the plow to really push this forward."
'There's an FBI investigation underway'
The White House received a letter from Sue-Ann and Ben Crump on Monday, March 13, in which the two lawyers provided more information about Shanquella's alleged murder. A report from the Baja California Sur District Attorney's Office's expert forensic doctor Dr Rene Adalberto Galvan Oseguera, Shanquella died in a "violent" manner, according to the Sun.
Shanquella's death was addressed at a press conference on Thursday, March 16, 2023, by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who also stated that the White House would not comment on any legal action. "Our hearts go out to Miss Robinson's family and friends. It is devastating, what occurred. And, certainly, the tragedy is just devastating," she stated.
Jean-Pierre added, "But because there's an FBI investigation underway, there's very little that we can say." Crump stated that he plans to meet with representatives from the White House and the head of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee after Saturday, April 1, according to Charlotte Observer.
