Disabled man and his able-bodied girlfriend document their relationship on YouTube to 'normalize' interabled romances
Love knows no bounds, and the interabled romance of a wheelchair bound man and his able-bodied girlfriend is ample evidence of it.
Twenty six-year-old Shane Burcaw from Pennsylvania and his girlfriend Hannah Aylward have documented their relationship on their YouTube vlog, which has been described by many as inspirational and is being used by the couple to help break down the stigma that people with disabilities face in everyday life.
Burcaw was born with a neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and has been wheelchair-bound since he was 2 years old. About three years ago, Shane received a message from 25-year-old Aylward, after she had seen a documentary about his life that was produced by Rainn Wilson, the actor who played Dwight from 'The Office'.
