Fans of Hiroyuki Takei's popular shonen series 'Shaman King' have reason to rejoice. Fifteen years after the original anime series went off the air, a reboot has now been announced with a cooler, sleeker look than ever before.

The new series, which will be adapting all 35 volumes of the original manga, was announced on the franchise's official website and a teaser trailer has already been released. Fans have since taken to social media to celebrate the news and share their excitement for what's to come.

One enthusiastic fan took to Twitter writing, "NO WAY!!! NEW SHAMAN KING?!!!!I was obsessed with this !!!!!!! Like hardcore obsessed!!!! yes Faust come baaaack you freaky little necromancer!!!!!!!!!!! and tao len DFKJHDKFJ yes OMFG my boys are coming back."

"Wait what Shaman King is gonna get an anime remake?!!!! HOLY F***," another fan tweeted.

"Hold up what? SHAMAN KING IS BACK?" Yet another fan wrote. "Fhdjsksdjdjdjdjsjs GASPING FOR AIR YESSS YESSS YESSSSS"

Some of the other fans were definitely quieter with their reactions. But they're just as enthusiastic. "New shaman king anime for 2021!? finally a proper adaptation? heck yeah," one such fan tweeted. "Damn today was a good a** day but news of a new Shaman King anime in 2021 really was the cherry on top," another fan declared.

One fan in particular who has been waiting for this for a long time wrote, "Anyone who knows me knows that I haven't shut up once about shaman king not getting the anime reboot it deserves for the past five years y'all, I'm so pumped!"

For those who don't know, 'Shaman King' follows the adventures of Yoh Asakura as he trains himself in classic shonen fashion to become the titular Shaman King. The choice of shamanism as a central concept is a unique one for anime but it lends a lot of weight to the story that has gone on to become one of the top 10 greatest anime/manga stories of all time.

The manga has sold over 35 million volumes in Japan alone with both the anime and subsequent trading card game generating comparable revenue. We're pretty sure that the new reboot will also reach similar heights.

The 'Shaman King' reboot anime will be released in April 2021.
