American Presidents have had a long tryst with indulging in love affairs outside of their marriage. While being a family man is essential to the presidential race, news and rumors about alleged affairs are quite rampant.

In her new book 'Sex with Presidents: The Ins and Outs of Love and Lust in the White House', author Eleanor Herman aims to uncover 'the bedroom secrets' of US Presidents. The scandalous book looks into the long history of the highest office in America and extramarital affairs.

According to the official synopsis of the HarperCollins book, "In this fascinating work of popular history, the New York Times bestselling author of Sex with Kings and The Royal Art of Poison uncovers the bedroom secrets of American presidents and explores the surprising ways voters have reacted to their leaders' sex scandals."

Herman writes that "many world leaders are narcissistic risk-takers with feelings of invincibility - and focus obsessively on their personal image, lose contact with reality, and see themselves as omnipotent messiahs."

While the book explores some of the country's foremost presidents such as Thomas Jefferson, it also looks into the affairs of modern presidents like Bill Clinton. Clinton, according to this explosive book, liked to have sex on his desk. There is also included deep insight into his notorious affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

The 42nd US President denied having sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky throughout the impeachment trial, but his denial became the basis for an impeachment charge of perjury. The former White House intern, who was 22 at the time, had called the relationship consensual, but some commentators have characterized the president's sexual relationship with her as predatory or non-consensual -- in particular because of the major power difference between them.

Little is known about Clinton's affair with Flowers. But Herman's book brings to light new details that are scandalous in nature. According to an exclusive Daily Mail report, Flowers apparently reveals in the book that Bill Clinton "wasn't well endowed" and that it was his stamina that amazed her. "I thought my head would explode with the pleasure," Flowers confessed. During the 1992 presidential campaign, reports surfaced that Clinton had an extramarital affair with Gennifer Flowers.

The American singer, model and actress had revealed a sexual encounter with him -- stating that she had had a 12-year relationship with him. Clinton also denied being involved in this affair despite the fact that Flowers had publicly presented tape recordings of their phone calls. In January 1998, Clinton testified under oath that he had had a sexual encounter with Flowers.

Clinton, in his 2004 autobiography titled 'My Life', had acknowledged testifying under oath that he had a sexual encounter with Flowers. He claimed that they only had sex on one occasion in 1977 -- this was contrary to Flowers' claims of their relationship lasting over a decade.

Apart from that, the book also covers Donald Trump, who had bragged about grabbing women "by the p***y". Older generation presidents such as Thomas Jefferson and his six children with his slave Sally Hemmings (who was the half-sister of his wife) have chapters dedicated to them. The book also explores details about John F. Kennedy's infamous encounters in the White House pool and in Jackie's bed, as well as his highly speculated affair with Marilyn Monroe. 'Sex with Presidents' also explores Warren G. Harding and his love letters with his wife's best friend.
