Netflix's 'Sex Education' gave us a very novel yet realistic portrayal of teenage life. From closeted gay men masquerading as bullies to virgins who are offering sex therapy,, we met quite a few characters when season one premiered on Netflix.

Now, as we await the season two premiere, which is yet to get an official date, there is one character whose return we are most excited about.

Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) started off as a seemingly forgettable lackey to the popular trio of her school, but as soon as she walked into the deserted washroom to smoke a cigarette with Meave (Emma Mackey), we realized that her story is going to be interesting.

She was used to having her life dictated by the popular squad _ how she must dress, who she must date, and even who her friends outside of the group can be.

And, for many episodes, she was that dutiful minion who did as she was told and secretly spent time with her BFF Meave.

However, we saw a revolution brewing within her as soon as she dumped Adam (Connor Swindells ) after he flashed the whole school.

It was addressed right at the beginning of the series, how Aimee had a tendency to put on a show during sex — one that she possibly learned by watching porn.

When she finally met a boy who told her that what turns him on was for her to actually enjoy the sexual experience, she decided to do some exploring on her own and finally experienced an orgasm, and since then she has been a changed woman.

The media and ads tend to drive it into women's minds that their beauty is to attract men, their sexuality is to attract men, and even the fact that they have sex is to keep men attracted to you.

Unfortunately, Aimee is one of them, and the only time she even explored what she likes is because her partner told her that is what turns him on.

However, we are focusing on the destination and not the journey, and the destination is a truly liberated and self-assured Aimee.

By the end of season one, we see that Aimee is not only confident enough to demand what she wants in bed but also to stand up to her "friends" when they bully Meave.

She even publicly declares that Meave is her best friend and we love her all the more for it! We can't wait to see what liberated, toxic-free Aimee's life would be like in season two.
