7-year-old rape victim who told doctors 'don't heal me anymore' after years of parental abuse dies in hospital
A seven-year-old girl who begged doctors to let her die after suffering years of abuse at the hands of her own parents has reportedly passed away after months in hospital. The girl, identified only as Yatziri, lost her life in the Hospital de Las Margaritas in Puebla, Mexico, on Monday, local officials announced. The youngster was reportedly being treated in ICU after being severely beaten in August, according to The Sun. Doctors said the seven-year-old's injuries were the result of years of abuse before she eventually died of multi-organ failure, local media reported. The girl was reportedly taken to the hospital by a neighbor and was diagnosed with internal bleeding. Doctors found signs of rape, back burns, as well as a collapsed lung. “I want to die, don't heal me anymore," the girl reportedly told doctors upon arrival at the hospital. "I don't want to go back to my parents so they can keep hitting me."
Her parents, identified only as Rafael and Alejandra, have reportedly been detained and are being probed for child abuse. Meanwhile, police are still looking for the victim's paternal uncle, who is said to have raped the young girl on several occasions. According to The Sun, Yatziri had a younger sister named Mitzy, 3, who died of accidental asphyxiation in her sleep in June this year. But authorities have reopened an investigation into Mitzy's demise after the latest revelations. Yatziri had previously been admitted to hospital with "signs of trauma blows and serious injuries all over her body dating back to 2019." However, authorities did not take any disciplinary action against her parents, per the report. When admitted in August, doctors found she had burns to her buttocks so severe that they had destroyed some muscle tissue. Medics were forced to give the child skin grafts as a result.
The government of Puebla said in a recent announcement that those responsible for the girl's untimely demise would be punished to the highest extent of the law.
Earlier, MEAWW reported how Missouri police had arrested the parents of a four-year-old girl who was brutally beaten before being drowned in a freezing pond and left to die on Christmas eve. James Mast and Mary Mast -- parents of little Jessica Mast -- were taken into custody in connection with her death, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office said. The arrests of the victim’s parents came as authorities believed their efforts were not enough to stop the alleged killers - Ethan Mast and Kourtney Aumen. According to a probable cause statement, Mast and Aumen forced the parents to sexually abuse the little girl before she died. James told investigators that neighbors Ethan and Kourtney had convinced him that Mary had a "demon" inside her and that they beat their kids over a period of several weeks, threatening they would be shot to death if they intervened. On December 20, the day of the alleged murder, Ethan, 35, and Kourtney, 21, went to the victim’s residence at eight in the morning and beat her while forcing her parents to watch. Later in the day, they even used a belt to hurt the child, police said. A probable cause statement from Sgt. Chris Wilson accuses the neighbors of sexual abuse and forcing the little girl’s parents to use a foreign object to perform sexual acts on her.
