SULLIVAN COUNTY, NEW YORK: Mark Ruffalo was brutally slammed on social media after he praised the 'If I Could Turn Back Time' singer Cher for supporting Kathy Hochul. The current governor of New York is all set to run for governor again in the upcoming election which will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Ruffalo stated on his Twitter handle, "Yes! Thank you @Cher for always being an artist who speaks truth to power & stands up for our rights & democracy. You are an inspiration! #NewYork Election Day is this Tuesday, Nov 8. Please make a plan to get out and vote for Democrat @KathyHochul & bring a friend!"

Ruffalo was also in the news recently after he blasted Elon Musk in one of his tweets for charging $8 from the verified account as a subscription charge, retweeting the tweet of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He wrote, "Elon. Please—for the love of decency—get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX. You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look."

Meanwhile, as the elections are soon approaching, former President Bill Clinton attended Hochul's election campaign on Saturday, November 5. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden called Hochul a governor who can “get things done” and described Election Day as “a choice between two fundamentally different visions of America." He then added, “Democracy is literally on the ballot," according to The New York Times.
