SULLIVAN COUNTY, NEW YORK: Mark Ruffalo was brutally slammed on social media after he praised the 'If I Could Turn Back Time' singer Cher for supporting Kathy Hochul. The current governor of New York is all set to run for governor again in the upcoming election which will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. 

Ruffalo stated on his Twitter handle, "Yes! Thank you @Cher for always being an artist who speaks truth to power & stands up for our rights & democracy. You are an inspiration! #NewYork Election Day is this Tuesday, Nov 8. Please make a plan to get out and vote for Democrat @KathyHochul & bring a friend!"

Ruffalo was also in the news recently after he blasted Elon Musk in one of his tweets for charging $8 from the verified account as a subscription charge, retweeting the tweet of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He wrote, "Elon. Please—for the love of decency—get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX. You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look."

Meanwhile, as the elections are soon approaching, former President Bill Clinton attended Hochul's election campaign on Saturday, November 5. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden called Hochul a governor who can “get things done” and described Election Day as “a choice between two fundamentally different visions of America." He then added, “Democracy is literally on the ballot," according to The New York Times. 

'Lmao I can't even try to take you serious'

Users on social media were quick to react to Ruffalo's tweet. A user said, "Didn't you just move out of crazy California and your trying to make new York like California a place u moved hahahhahahhahahahhahahgahag your a crazy nut job."

Another said, "Do you know you’re being lied to and playing some kind of part? If not the you really should do some research. Cause if you’re not playing some sort of part then you’re not very bright." Another stated, "Weakest Avenger."

Meanwhile, a user claimed, "Nothing like supporting the Democrats in NY that want to kill babies, the elderly and your rights to protect yourself. Idiot."

Another added, "So incredibly out of touch with reality and the common man. This is why so many people despise Hollywood. The people most affected by crime in NY are blacks and Hispanics..or don’t you get that? So disrespectful of those who are having to live in these Dem-run cities."

However, a user tweeted, "Seriously, when will celebrities realize they aren’t the idols or harbingers of truth they think they are?" Another asked, "What are the unequal rights exactly?"

A tweet read, "Lmao I can't even try to take you serious." Another claimed, "Stay in your lane elitist! Many of us NYers can't afford prices in NY like you and worry about crime as we can't afford security LIKE YOU and CHER!"
