'SEAL Team' season 3: David Boreanaz says Jason Hayes might open up about his past and begin a 'good love story'
"The only easy day was yesterday," the SEALs believe. As the 'SEAL Team' comes back with a power-packed third season on CBS, there is more action, violence, and drama on the way. A preview for the military show recently dropped and it is titled 'Welcome to the Refugee: Part 1' for which the synopsis reads: "Jason Hayes leads the team on a mission in Serbia to track down an organization linked to the bombing of multiple American military outposts."
The promo begins with Ensign Lisa Davis announcing: "Kosovo's recently become a hotbed of terrorist activity," and the team gets back into combat mode. While war dominates the storyline of the series, David Boreanaz, who plays the role of Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, leader of the Navy SEAL team, revealed that the third season will delve deeper into the team's identity and personal relationships.
After an intense season two finale, the series will put the spotlight on post-traumatic stress disorders as well as brain injuries that have affected the Bravo Team.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Boreanaz said, "All these characters go through something on the Bravo team and at the end, they come to this realization of what's next for them, and I will say that Jason Hayes has a lot to talk about, but he’s not too good about it, so I think that’s going to be surprising for them."
"We identify them and see what their lives are like, new relationships, identifying past stories with where they come from, looking at their adversities they have to overcome, whether that’s in the political spectrum of Washington and someone becoming an admiral or maybe not. Losing rank, losing power — all very character-driven stuff, and I hint at new relationships because I think we will see that, but it will take a little time. Maybe a good love story," he added.
Officer Amanda Ellis (Jessica Paré), who is known as Mandy, will have a new task at hand. Following her demotion, she will join the team on the streets. "[She's been] retasked as an analyst and interrogator who services all of DEVGRU (the Naval Special Warfare Development Group)," showrunner John Glenn told TVLine. "Instead of walking the halls of power in DC, Season 3 opens up a new world for Mandy - one where she's out in the field, in the middle of the action, even interrogating sources on target with Bravo."
There are a few new additions to the cast, including 'Supernatural' fame Emily Swallow as Dr. Natalie Pierce, a research psychologist. Rudy Dobrev will play the role of a field agent, Filip, for Serbia's version of the CIA and Jamie McShane will play Captain Lindell, who will work with the operatives from Tier One who crosses paths with Bravo.
The military drama returns to CBS on October 2, 2019, and it may bring many more storms into the lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them.
