School teacher and aides put autistic students in dark room and tormented them with whistles
The incidents came to the forefront when another aide was left disturbed by everything going on at the Silver Sands School in Fort Walton Beach and reported it to authorities
A teacher and two aides at a school for autistic children in Florida have been arrested and charged after they allegedly punished the children. It has been alleged that the three women would lock the children up in a dark bathroom on campus and blow whistles in their ears as a form of cruel punishment.
The incidents were only brought to the forefront when another aide was left so disturbed by everything going on at the Silver Sands School in Fort Walton Beach that she reported it to authorities. The Okaloosa Sheriff's Office said that this is what prompted an investigation.
