Spoilers for 'Schitt's Creek' Season 6 Episode 13 'Start Spreading the News'

Congratulations are in order for the Rose family as Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy) finally secured his big win and expansion of the Rosebud Motel is underway. At first, the meeting in New York last week seems to have gone horribly wrong, but good news comes in cheering, opening new avenues for the family.

Over the course of the last six seasons, the Rose family has tried desperately to get out of Schitt's Creek, where they were brought following the demise of their business empire. Not one to give up, Johnny leaves no stone unturned to make their exit from the town possible eventually building the Rosebud Motel as it stands today.

On the other hand, Moira Rose (Catherine O'Hara) finds herself dejected when plans for the revival of her popular soap opera 'Sunrise Bay'. After giving an ultimatum to her producer Tippy Bernstein (in a guest appearance by Saul Rubinek in Season 6 Episode 10 'Sunrise, Sunset'), she had thought that it would be the end of it. But with Tippy deciding to go with her, it looks like the prolific actress of daytime television will be back in action.

Even as the Rose parents make big leaps in their careers, their daughter Alexis finds a friendship worth cherishing for a lifetime. When Alexis first met Twyla (Sarah Levy), who knew they would have shared so many important moments of their lives together. From ruing over the same boy to pushing each other forward in life, the girls have shared a heartwarming friendship that might soon dissolve as a result of Alexis moving to New York.

Alexis has come a long way since moving to Schitt's Creek as a young, flamboyant lady with little to no prospects. Now, she wants to spread her wings and explore new avenues — all by herself, taking the independence to the next level as her mother points out.

But as the Rose family commences their departure from Schitt's Creek, David (Dan Levy) decides he wishes to stay back with his husband Patrick (Noah Reid) and best friend Stevie (Emily Hampshire) by his side. It is an especially difficult decision for him to make — not because he doesn't love Patrick, who had found themselves a quaint house, but because he wanted to prove himself to those who abandoned him when he needed them the most. He tells Stevie how he wants to show his old "friends" that he has won at life. Ruing that he won't be able to do it if he stays back, Stevie points out that David's life here, right now, proves that he has already won.

Written by Daniel Levy and directed by Jordan Canning, the episode is very likely to leave you in tears. As the Rose family approaches their farewell from the tiny Schitt's Creek, you will be left feeling morose but "best wishes" nonetheless.

The finale episode of 'Schitt's Creek' will air on April 7, 2020, on Pop TV at 9/8c followed by an hour-long special behind-the-scenes documentary 'Best Wishes' will air immediately after.
