Rapper Scarface, best known as a member of hip-hop group Geto Boys, revealed that he is in the need of a kidney following his battle with Covid-19. The 'Smile' hitmaker, trying to find a donor on social media, tweeted, "I need a kidney y’all any volunteers? B+ blood type." He then wrote, "I’ve started the process to get a kidney transplant, I appreciate the love! It should take me 2-3 months to see if I’m a good candidate, in the meantime you stay healthy, the list will open shortly there after and we can discuss who’s a match...again I appreciate that y’all..." The Houston, Texas, rapper added, "Just found out blood type don’t matter if you are a donor they will match me with my kidney in exchange so anyone can be a donor, can’t thank y’all enough."

The artiste criticized President Donald Trump and vice-president Mike Pence over their way of handling the pandemic. He tweeted, "You did it too Pence and word on the streets is you is a bigot @mikepence and you @donaldjtrump you’re dad was in the klan we can’t have that in America you have failed us miserably I caught the Covid it’s not a hoax and I wasn’t up in 3 days."

The 49-year-old rapper tested positive for Covid-19 back in March. In an interview with fellow Geto Boys member Willie D, Scarface, who is asthmatic, said, "You know, like, this whole three weeks have been an ordeal, Will. Like, it’s the craziest sh*t I’ve ever done and seen in my life. I’ve been to the point where I just felt like I was going to die, bro. I threw up so much until it was just hot sauce. Like your gasses and the sh*t in your stomach — your acids. I didn’t have no food in my stomach. It was just coming up like bile bro."

Later, in June, the 'Guess Who’s Back' emcee gave an update on his health condition. He informed that his kidneys didn't make a full recovery from the diagnosis. In an interview with FOX 26 Houston, the rapper said, "COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out. I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back." Talking about other symptoms he experienced, he added, "I’m still a little weak; I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But, I am glad to be alive." Revealing that he was placed on dialysis, Scarface added, "I fought the COVID, double bilateral pneumonia and kidney failure, all in my house. This my new lifeline. I gotta change my entire diet. I gotta do dialysis four times a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all of my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body. Before the COVID, I never had kidney problems."
