Netflix brought an end to the action-drama series 'Warrior Nun' starring Alba Baptista, just after a month after its second season release. Simon Barry, the series creator took to Twitter on Tuesday, December 13, to confirm the news. 

Season 2 of 'Warrior Nun', only spent three weeks in Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 for English-language series standing at #5, as per Deadline. The cast of the series also included Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner, Tristán Ulloa, Thekla Reuten as well as Sylvia De Fanti, and William Miller. 'Warrior' Nun is based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala. The character initially appeared in 'Ninja High School #37' in March 1993, under the name Shanna Masters, reported Daily Mail.

The first season of the series was released in July 2020 and the second season was out on November 10, 2022, due to positive reviews. Barry tweeted, "I’ve just found out that @netflix will not be renewing #WarriorNun - my sincere appreciation to all the fans who worked so hard to bring awareness to this series, and for the love you showed me, the cast and the whole production team. It was a privilege to be a part of this." The show was executive produced by Stephen Hegyes and David Hayter and Terri Hughes Burton was the co-executive producer.



 

Meanwhile, Amy Berg, Consulting Producer of the show retweeted Simon's tweet and stated, "Simon and I put together the best writers room in town and assembled a cast of young legends. So proud of what we accomplished. Shout out to our loyal fans for whom I know this will be devastating news. And all hail Simon Barry. #WarriorNun #WarriorNunS2." 



 

Alba Baptista also thanked the crew and audience on her official Twitter handle, She said, "Working on Warrior Nun was a very special chapter of my life. Thank you to the cast and crew for giving everything they had. Thank you to the fans that loved and supported us. I see you and I love you. It was all for you. I’m forever grateful. "

As the news broke out, fans took to the social media platform to protest Netflix's move and #SaveWarriorNun became trending. They were all cancelled, they all have saphic representation and they are all led by women. This is Netflix #WarriorNun #SaveWarriorNun."
