Stephen has struggled with lumps on his body for 44 years but he never thought that there would come a time when they would start controlling his life. Spread across his arms and stomach, Stephen finds it hard to carry on with his day-to-day life.

At first, the lumps no his body were small but with time they changed in size and soon became as big as a golf ball. They became bigger and some of them got harder. While he thought that could be the worse of it, he was shocked when some of them were causing him pain. Most of the time he tried to hide these lumps.

He found out that the best way to make sure that people do not pay attention to his lumps is by wearing flashy shirts. With a collection of them in his cupboard, Stephen revealed that he tends to wear shirts that have long sleeves as they hide his arms and stops people from noticing it.

Due to these lumps, there are many activities that Stephen has restrained himself from doing. One of them is swimming. Fearful of what people might say, he decided to stay away from activities that might bring attention to his lumps. After struggling with his lumps for a long time, Stephen finally decided to meet Dr Emma Craythorne for help.

Dr Emma realized that Stephen had lipomas on his arm. Lipomas are a collection of fat tissue and are not harmful. She suggested that they could do surgery and remove these tissues. Stephen chose to remove the two big ones on his arm as they were the ones that stood out.

Upon examining, Dr Emma realized that these two big ones had a collection of smaller lipomas. Without wasting much time, she prepped Stephen for surgery. She then started to remove the lipomas and was surprised to see how one of them had all six small lipomas attached. She was fascinated that it resembled the heart shape.

The surgery went successful and she then stitched the skin back. Stephen was surprised to see the difference it had made and realized that it looked like he never had those lumps. He thanked Dr Emma as he walked out of the hospital with a smile on his face.

'Save My Skin' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm ET on TLC.
