LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A TikTok influencer claimed that child safety officials took her child away from her temporarily after she shared a video of her husband pushing the child who was completely rolled up in plastic wrap from the neck down. Savannah Glembin, who has 1.1 million followers on TikTok, looked distraught in her video after the alleged encounter that resulted in her son being taken away by authorities.

"Gunner (their son) has been taken from us until CPR, Child Protection Register can evaluate our home because I posted a video of my husband and son playing," she stated. Many people voiced concerns after they watched the brief footage of the young child, who appears to be around two years old, being moved by her husband Hank while being tightly bundled up in cling film.

What happened in the video?

The young boy, Gunner, seemed incapable of moving with both arms restrained to the sides. The child is positioned standing up on the bed at one point before falling forward onto his knees while being restrained by the cling film and unable to move his arms. The father quips, "He's a worm." "If you have a grumpy toddler all day, this is the only way," Glembin can be heard speaking in the background. The child is then tightly wrapped and laid face down on the bed by his soldier father before being turned over onto his back.

'Just a funny thing'

The TikTok mom defended the video, stating that it was "just a funny thing Hank did because Gunner was getting into the stove that day and tried putting a fork in a socket." Many TikTok users left comments expressing how the now-deleted video left them feeling uneasy and unsettled. However, another user, who goes by the username @auntkaren0, reposted the video, saying it "feels like abuse." The user wrote, "I don’t see what’s funny here. I don’t understand how putting your toddler in an uncomfortable position is funny and then posting it for views," said the user. "Not only did you not just do this for your own entertainment, you thought this was going to be everybody’s entertainment. This is why I don’t like family channels like this, because they will go to any length for views."

The video also has been circulated on Twitter and many criticized the mother. A user wrote, "horrible woman." Another user shared a different video of the mother and wrote,"He was wrapped in plastic but [our baby] still had room to move and he was happy' is the most dumbest thing I've seen on socials today. Protecting children online should be our highest priority." Further, someone added," Savannah Glembin, and various other videos about it. It looked like the baby just shut down when it happened, like a trauma response. It was really bad." Moreover, someone added, "This is sick child abuse and im reporting this to the people who can protect this child and put you where you belong."

'We would never hurt our son'

In another video, the mother with teary eyes says, "That video was skewed in a way [that resulted in] people thinking we were abusing our child. But he was laughing and smiling and it was just a funny thing Hank did because Gunner was getting into the stove that day and tried putting a fork in a socket." The influencer continued, "Hank playfully wrapped him in cling wrap - he had room to move. He looked like a little worm, like a little cucumber. He was at no point in distress or crying. We would never hurt our son, we would never hurt our child. He is the best thing that's ever happened to us."

'We don't deserve our child taken away'

Glembin went on and said, "We went down and made our statements, thinking Gunner was going to be returned to us that day and that CPS would do their investigation and see that our home is safe." She then said: "All I can say is that my son is so loved and cherished. He is my miracle baby, he was my fourth pregnancy after three miscarriages, and he's the light of my life. We made a mistake and we don't deserve our child taken away because of it."

'Note how she said she regrets posting it, not doing it'

Several Reddit users quickly reacted to the new video with one user writing, "And she just said in a comment that she 'doesn’t know if I’ll ever post him again'. You don’t know?? After this?? You shouldn’t post again PERIOD. I hope this TikTok ban comes through." Some thought the mother even lied about the CPR incident. A user wrote, "If she lied about that she’s grosser than I thought." "Yeah no way the kid got removed on a Sunday and given back on the same day. I work CPS. That shit doesn’t happen like that," penned another user. "Note how she said she regrets posting it, not doing it," remarked another user.
