Who is Satnam Sumal?
Police said that Satnam Sumal surrendered to cops and admitted to killing his wife and his wife's girlfriend. According to the criminal complaint, the 55-year-old man used a.40 caliber handgun to shoot the two victims. Sumal and Satbinder Singh were reportedly in an open relationship and lived together with Belaidi. Investigators are still looking for a motive. Meanwhile, the man was arrested and faces two counts of murder charges and was booked in San Joaquin County Jail. According to authorities, a firearm suspected to have been used in the killings was discovered at the residence. "In my 20-some-odd years in law enforcement, I can’t think of that ever happening," Tracy Police Sgt Michael Richards told CBS. "It’s a tragedy, and our thoughts are with the family."
Satbinder Singh's local Gurdwara, or Sikh temple, reported her terrible demise online. They announced her funeral details and wrote, "With great sadness, we inform of you of passing of Satbinder Kaur Singh of Tracy CA."
'It is really scary'
There were also two young children residing at the home, according to CBS, but they weren't around during the time of the crime. The "love triangle" homicide has horrified the affluent California town's residents. Redfin claims that certain four-bedroom homes on the block where both women were discovered dead can be purchased for up to $860,000. Neighbor Karuppiah Karuppiah expressed shock that violence occurred in such close proximity and claimed he knew nothing about the interpersonal ties of the persons living in the home. "It is really scary, and it’s very unfortunate in this community this happened, and I feel very bad about it."
Friends described Belaidi as 'precious'
A relative, thought to be the brother of Nadjiba Belaidi, who went by the first name Manal, said online, "My sister Manal passed away last night in California, only God knows her value on my heart, my love for her, her destiny in mind and reality." he went on and stated, "Manal was a very good woman with an irreplaceable heart, a good adviser." Another friend said, "Manal my love, the news of your death shocked me and failed me. May Allah have mercy on you my dear, and make you dwell in Paradise, the kindest heart I've ever known in my foreign land. You left us while you were at the peak of your youth, precious," as cited by Daily Mail.
