Sasha Obama is already the 'it girl' at Michigan University as sororities on campus are scrambling to recruit her
After it was reported that former President Barrack Obama's daughter, Sasha, would begin her classes at the University of Michigan on Tuesday, September 3, sororities around Ann Arbor, where the 18-year-old was seen attending freshman orientation last week, are scrambling to land the high-profile college student as a pledge.
According to TMZ, Sasha is being considered what is known as "rush crush" among the Greek sisterhoods. While it is a massive plus to have the daughter of the ex-POTUS among the sisters of the sororities, but that is not the only reason why they want her to become one of them. The report said that Sasha is smart, personable and a crowd-puller, and that's why she is a hot commodity.
The report also said that one particular Greek sisterhood seems to be ahead in the race when it comes to bagging Barrack's daughter - Alpha Chi Omega (AXO). Apparently, when she visited the university campus earlier this year, she stayed at the AXO's house, where one of her close friends from high school was already staying.
The sorority boasts to be comprised of "unique, talented, genuine women choosing a fun and meaning way to enhance your college experience and building lifelong bonds that extend long into your alumni years." Although rushing doesn't begin until Spring, there was a good chance that Sasha would end up choosing AXO as her pledge as it will likely gain the approval of her parents.
However, there is also the distinct possibility of her not signing onto any of the sororities on campus as Michelle Obama was famously not part of a sorority at Princeton. As for Malia, no one knows for sure if she pledged at Harvard.
The faculty at the University of Michigan didn't confirm Sasha's enrolment in their institution as it is against their policy to make details of individual students public.
Rumors last year suggested that Sasha would join the Big Ten university and not follow her family's footsteps of attending an Ivy League school. The unconfirmed reports were based on an Instagram post reportedly from her private account in which she was seen with two of her friends and which read, "So proud to say I’m going to college with my sisters!!".
