'Sanditon': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the drama based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel
This is the first major television adaptation of Jane Austen's final and incomplete novel which she abandoned due to her health-related issues before she died. 'Sanditon' will make its mark on television airing on ITV this coming autumn. While Austen wrote the novel for 11 chapters the script of the series has been stretched out to cover eight hour-long episodes. The brain behind its TV adaptation Andrew Davies, known for House of Cards, is back with a new series based on Jane Austen's last novel, 'Sanditon'. The series will be in the genre of love, drama, mystery, and self-actualization that will draw a large array of viewers.

Sanditon will be aired in eight parts on ITV in autumn 2019.
Plot
Sanditon was a story that was written and developed just months before the death of Jane Austen in 1817. The plot of the story revolves around a joyous and unconventional woman by the name Charlotte Heywood and her relationship with the funny and charming Sidney Parker. When Charlotte moves away from the countryside she calls home to Sanditon which is a fishing village that is attempting to reinvent itself as a seaside resort, she gets exposed to its complications and flirtations and the locals whose fortune depends on the commercial success that Sanditon is expected to receive. The overall story is one of love and self-discovery in a 19th century set up with twists and turns in the plot that traverses from the West Indies disintegrating alleys of London.

Rose Williams
Rose Williams is best known for her work in A Quiet Passion (2016) and Medici (2016). She plays the lead role of Charlotte in the new ITV drama series 'Sanditon'.
Theo James
Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, better known as Theo James, is an English actor, director, producer and model, known for portraying the role of Tobias "Four" Eaton in The Divergent Series film trilogy. He played Detective Walter William Clark, Jr. in the crime-drama series Golden Boy (2013). He will be playing the role of the unpredictable and roguish Sidney, in the series 'Sanditon'.

Andrew Wynford Davies is a Welsh writer of screenplays and novels, best known for 'House of Cards' and 'A Very Peculiar Practice', along with his adaptations of Vanity Fair, Pride and Prejudice, Middlemarch, and War & Peace. He was made a BAFTA Fellow in 2002.
