STATE COLLEGE, PENNSYLVANIA: Sam Richards, a Penn State professor of sociology, sparked outrage after he urged his straight students to watch gay or lesbian porn to uncover a new aspect of their sexuality. He said, “If you’re straight, watch gay or lesbian porn and see how quickly you feel aroused. And how you can’t control that. You’ll realize that ‘Oh, d—, I could be sexualized by people who are like me.’” “We are all at some level nonbinary. We’re all, very much, easily bisexual," Richards added.

In the same lecture where he advised his students to watch gay and lesbian porn, Professor Richards also shared a personal account of a student who had transitioned to a different gender and offered tips to female students on urinating while standing. “Women, you should know this by the way, the little trick, you can have a little piece of leather and fold it up and use that to go in the urinal or go outside," he said, as reported by The New York Post.

Most of the students remained silent in response. “I might have hit a nerve there. Did I hit a nerve?” the professor asked. Penn State told Fox News Digital that encouraging "critical thinking and discussion" required "academic freedom for faculty." “Professor Richards purposefully teaches in a manner designed to promote discussion across a spectrum of opinions. His class is not mandatory but is a popular elective that students choose to join. Dr Richards and his course colleagues take time to discuss opinions from many perspectives — from liberal to conservative—and delve into topics from different viewpoints to create conversation, challenge beliefs, and encourage students to explore uncomfortable and complex topics.”

Richards once more advised the "straight folks" and "especially men" in his class to watch gay porn and wrestle with their sexual desires as some students laughed. “Watch gay porn. See if you feel that feeling. If you feel that feeling, look in a mirror, and say huh, maybe I’m just feeling some things that I’m just afraid to release. And maybe you release that and maybe you’d be surprised that maybe you actually are fine being more bisexual.”

According to a course description on Penn State's website, Richards' course is immensely popular with students. “Every semester 725 students register for SOC 119, the largest race and ethnic relations course in the country. In that room, they have the opportunity to re-examine the world and challenge what they believe to be their place in it from a new perspective.”

In addition, according to Richards' YouTube account, SOC 119 was taught on December 6, 2022. The topic of discussion was about "A Conversation on Trans Issues, TERFS, and The Binary." Trans-exclusionary radical feminist is referred to as TERF.

Previously, Richards made news for selecting an "average White" student from a crowd of 700 and declaring that he has an inherent "advantage" over any Black student, regardless of behavior. The footage of the incident, which was released on YouTube on June 30, 2021, has a timestamp of January 2019.

'He's psychotic but the liberals love him'

People were quick to respond to social media, with one commenting, "Yep. His name is Professor Sam Richards. He's built quite a reputation for himself. I personally think he's psychotic but the liberals love him." Another said, "Grooming our young adults. Penn State Professor Sam Richards tells students to watch porn." A third chimed in, "Glad I’m not paying Penn State $52k/yr. for my kid to sit in Dr. Sam Richards sociology class for this drivel:”If you’re straight, watch gay or lesbian porn and see how quickly you feel aroused. And how you can’t control that.” They’re after your kids & the grooming doesn’t stop." "@penn_state get rid of Sam richards. He is a disgusting person," said a fourth. A fifth said, "John, The Prof. is obviously Gay, and should not be pushing his own sexual preferences in the class room."
