The second season of the Facebook Watch anthology series ‘Sacred Lies’, called ‘Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones’ looks exciting. The first season that was based on Stephanie Oakes’ novel ‘The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly’ received a lot of favorable reviews from critics across the board. It was praised for a strong story, good performances, and its excellent cinematography.

Season 2, on the other hand, draws inspiration from a Brothers Grimm story, 'The Singing Bone', as well as real-life murder cases. The story follows Elsie (Jordan Alexander) as she searches for the family she never knew after being abandoned as a child. The search leads her to her father, Peter (Ryan Kwanten), an inmate who may be guilty of more than the crimes he’s currently incarcerated for and Harper (Juliette Lewis), a telemarketer turned arm-chair detective with an obsessive hobby of searching for unidentified murder victims.

A clip from the first episode of the show on Facebook Watch shows Harper in her dark dank apartment, making telemarketing calls. Of course, her calls find not just rejection but outright despise. One of the people -- by the sound of it, an old woman -- shouts at her.

Harper, in a fit of rage, responds with, “What is wrong with you, Nancy Winthrop of White Beach, Sarasota?” she angrily asks, looking at her information. “What makes you think it’s okay to belligerently scream at a total stranger, who hates their job, making sure you never have a lapse in coverage?”

As the customer cuts her call, she sits down dejectedly, before looking at the wall in front of her. The wall was a giant murder-board. It was full of notes, newspaper clippings, printouts of photos; all to do with missing persons, unsolved murders, and unidentified bodies.

Already, in this one-minute-something clip, the show sets the tone for grim happenings to come. After all, anyone with such a morbid “hobby” is likely to find themselves in trouble.
