'sMothered': Miguel turns down Laurie's request to propose to Sarah, fans think it is time for him to run
Laurie and Sarah are closer than ever and the pair thinks they are best friends. The duo has always been open and honest with each other and there was nothing coming between them. Sarah has been staying with her boyfriend for three and a half years, Miguel. The two recently purchased a house together and Laurie has been convinced that it is time for them to walk down the aisle.
Laurie revealed her kidney condition has put her in the spot where she is unsure how things would change. However, before that happens, she wants to make sure that Sarah's marriage takes place. Laurie thought that being in a relationship for three years and buying a house together were enough signs that it was time to take the next step.
She made it clear that Miguel would be pressurized to pop the big question and Sarah thought it was fair given that her mom was not keeping well. Sarah decided to take Laurie on the date she had planned with Miguel. Miguel did not feel comfortable having Laurie present there with them.
He thought Laurie always has a say in their relationship and wanted to be in control of what was happening. Laurie insisted Miguel take the next step and propose Sarah. However, he did not budge from his decision and made it clear that he would be proposing to Sarah when he felt the time was right.
Despite hearing this, Laurie decided to point out how she did not have much time in her hand because of kidney problems. Sarah decided to support her mother and stated she would love for her mother to be part of the wedding and watch her wall down the aisle. However, it was not enough to make Miguel change his mind. Speaking to the camera, Miguel confessed he knew about the seriousness of Laurie's condition but did not want to rush into things that he was not prepared for. Seeing how the situation unfolded, fans thought it was time for Miguel to run away from the relationship.
They thought he was not up for having a relationship where the mother was part of the package. "She doesn’t think Miguel is the right guy because he didn’t bow down at her feet & say I’ll be proposing within the next 30 days!! She’s pissed Miguel didn’t cave into her demands right away & she knows he’ll bump heads with her on all her wants!!" read one comment.
