Ryanair passenger who racially abused female pensioner on Barcelona flight will not face prosecution
An elderly man who launched a vile racist attack on a black woman on board a Ryanair flight will reportedly not be prosecuted.
Seventy-year-old David Mesher spewed some hateful comments at 77-year-old Delsie Gayle by calling her an "ugly black b*****d" during an argument on a flight in Barcelona in October last year. Mesher later claimed, however, that he was not a racist and that he had lost his temper during the argument over the seats on the aircraft.
Another passenger who was on the flight had taken a video of the elderly man shouting "don't speak to me in a f****** foreign language". The West Midlands Police interviewed Mesher at the sheltered housing complex where he stayed in Birmingham. Lawyers told Mirror Online that the investigation has been shelved after four months because the offense can only be tried in Spain.
