Golden Globes 2020: Russell Crowe wins Best Actor Miniseries or Television Film for 'The Loudest Voice'
It's awards season and one of the biggest accolades show the Golden Globes 2020 (before the Oscars, of course,) is here. The awards have begun to be announced, and Russell Crowe has walked away with the Best Actor award for the Mini-series or Television Film Category for 'The Loudest Voice'.
The other nominees in the same category were as follows:
Chris Abbott for 'Catch 22'
Sacha Baron Cohen for 'The Spy'
Jared Harris for 'Chernobyl'
Sam Rockwell for 'Fosse/Verdon'
The award was presented by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
In 'The Loudest Voice', Russell Crowe plays Roger Ailes, the architect of Fox News, who was brought by Rupert Murdoch in 1996 and brought down by 'Fox And Friends co-host' Gretchen Carlson, who filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him in 2016.
The series focused on the last decade where Ailes became a rising figure in the media, his political affiliations, the defining events in his life, the 2008 Presidential Election campaign, and the 2016 Presidential Election campaign, to the final sexual harassment allegations that put an end to his career.
A film was based on Roger Ailes as well, titled 'Bombshell', which starred Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, John Lithgow and Margot Robbie.
Crowe underwent tough transformations and arduous make-up drills to get the look for Ailes. In fact, Crowe is known to have told Vanity Fair that his shortest transformation took around two hours and 17 minutes. "The makeup is doing a lot of the work for you, so you can just relax with it,” Crowe shared.
