Rush Limbaugh has 'instinctive feeling' Biden might not contest election: 'Something's going to happen'

Besides targeting Biden and the Democratic Party over the Tara Reade rape charges, Limbaugh also mocked the former VP saying he would not be able to face Trump in any debate

Conservative radio host and Donald Trump sympathizer Rush Limbaugh has a sinister prediction about presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. According to the ailing commentator, the former vice president will eventually not find himself featuring in the November 3 election. Biden has come under pressure of late over a decades-old rape charge brought by one of his former Senate aides. Though a number of Democrats, including women, have backed Biden against the accusation brought by Tara Reade, Limbaugh believes the script could see a twist in the tail.

Speaking on his show on Monday, May 4, Limbaugh, 69, said “something’s gonna happen” with Biden. “Biden is somebody that’s not gonna be on the ticket anyway. Something’s gonna happen. They can’t possibly, they can’t possibly go into the race with the guy on the ticket. He couldn’t withstand one debate with Trump if there were any debates,” he said. Biden emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee for the November general election after his last remaining opponent Bernie Sanders quit the race last month. The Dems are set to formally select their presidential nominee at the 2020 Democratic National Convention in another few months.

“I mean, this is my instinctive feeling about it, but the Democrats are all tied in knots and pretzels here because of the #MeToo movement, and it’s fascinating to watch the media wring their hands about it,” Limbaugh, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer, added.

The Democratic Party and the media have been criticized by the conservative voices that feel Biden is being treated leniently despite the serious charges. Reade herself also slammed some top TV journalists for not asking Biden any question over the alleged incident that she claimed had happened in 1993. She also blasted former secretary of state Hillary Clinton for endorsing Biden for president, saying she enabled a sexual predator. Reade also questioned whether the same could be seen had President Trump or Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh been at the receiving end.

Reade accused Biden of penetrating her with his fingers after pushing her against a wall when they were alone at one instance 27 years ago. While the revelations came in late March, Biden spoke on the issue only last week but denied the charges outright. He also requested the secretary of the Senate to look for and release records of Reade's complaint but it was refused

Limbaugh says Democrats trapped in '#MeToo hypocrisy'

Limbaugh, reflecting the stand of his fellow conservatives, targeted the Democrats saying they have got trapped (on #MeToo hypocrisy). “They’ve gotten caught on [#MeToo hypocrisy]. Now, they’ve got the exact kind of allegation that [Supreme Court Justice Brett] Kavanaugh was hit with, except this one is even more believable. … So, they’re faced with a hard, cold reality on the Democrat side, and that is, they have to find a way to get him off the ticket. But he’s got the delegates. So, how do they do this?” he asked.

“They know. At the highest levels of the Democrat National Committee, they know that Joe Biden has got to go. Nonstarter. It’s a major, major problem,” Limbaugh, who was honored with the Medal of Freedom by Trump during his State of the Union address in February, said. The decision to confer on Limbaugh the top civilian honor gave birth to a massive controversy.

Limbaugh, a controversial figure in America’s public life, announced in February the news that he is at an advanced stage of lung cancer and has been undergoing treatment. He turned emotional when the president honored him with the medal which was physically conferred on by First Lady Melania Trump.
