'Run On' Episode 13 sees how Seon-gyeom deals with the news of Mi-joo telling him that she would prefer to protect herself as she cherishes herself and if she were to continue her relationship with him, his father may be out to ruin her. This is not something that she wants at the moment. Of course, she ended up revealing all of it because he forced her to talk to him right after she was verbally attacked and blackmailed by his father.

So after Seon-gyeom hears all of this, he realizes that she wants to break up with him and so he voices his thoughts as is. "Do you want to break up then?" he asks, and Mi-joo apologizes for forcing him to ask her that and responds that she would want to. He of course doesn't agree and tells her that everything that she had expressed that day was okay except for how she had forced him to be the one to raise the topic of breaking up. He also tells her that he believes that he deserves some time to think about all of this. She agrees and the two part ways.

However, when he is alone he cannot deal with this. He continues to wonder if she really does want to break up and she also regrets telling him the things that she did. She tries to put all her thoughts and efforts into her work and he attempts to do the same, which leads Mi-joo back to Seon-gyeom because the next film that she gets approached for, subtitle happens to be the one starring Seon-gyeom's mother, who happens to be an award-winning actor.

Seon-gyeom, meanwhile, is finding it hard to manage U-sik's career. He has been training his junior who had retired after blowing the whistle on how he was bullied by two of his seniors, and while dealing with the same, he had also learned that as a retired athlete himself, he doesn't hold much influence in the industry.

Even as he is dealing with this, he also ends up dealing with an issue that crops up at the high school track team that he supports. Turns out, one of the girls had ended up pushing someone by mistake because he had spoken bad about Seon-gyeom and this becomes a big issue that could end up breaking up the entire track team apart. Coincidentally, Mi-joo ends up seeing this girl and the two of them resolve the issue together. She also treats the highschool girl to a meal and takes her to her home, and that's where she meets Seon-gyeom as well.

Even as she tries to leave without speaking, he holds her back and also asks her to not leave him. She momentarily replies that she won't leave, however, he is talking about their relationship and the answer to that is something that we will have to wait to hear.

'Run On' episodes air on Wednesdays and Thursdays on JTBC in Seoul, South Korea, and can be streamed on Netflix in the US.
