After President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump ditched the New Year's gala at Mar-a-Lago, their Palm Beach resort in Florida, the guests who had paid $1,000 for tickets to the much-awaited bash, were left to party with the POTUS' personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and Vanilla Ice, who performed at the event, amidst other members of the Trump family and conservative media.

Only hours before the bash was scheduled to commence, reports came in of Trump and his wife deciding to return to Washington DC, foregoing the festivities amid his last-ditch effort to reverse the results of the 2020 election in his favor and to resolve the highly-anticipated Covid-19 relief bill in the Congress. Nevertheless, the bash went ahead as planned with his friends and family members gathering maskless at his Mar-a-Lago estate along with a stream of other guests.

According to CNN, the event lacked in the glitz and glam in the absence of Trump as some of the burned-out celebrities like Vanilla Ice and Berlin performed on the ballroom's main stage. When it comes to guests trying to get their money's worth by clicking selfies with some big shots, they were left with underwhelming options like Giuliani dressed in a blue velvet tuxedo jacket, and Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, apart from other faces from the right-wing television network, OANN.

Among the members of the Trump family who were present at the bash were Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, all of whom mingled among the guests with their respective significant others, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Lara Trump, and Michael Boulos. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were not seen at the bash.

Earlier in the evening, Trump Jr, who turned 43 on the eve, and girlfriend shared a video message on Facebook, wishing everyone a happy new year from the venue. "We just wanted to wish you guys an incredible new year. Obviously 2020 has been a little bit nuts and rather crazy, I don't think anyone's going to be upset about moving on from this one," Trump Jr. said.

Trump Jr also posted a second video of a music performance happening at the event. "Ok this is amazing. Vanilla Ice is playing the Mar-a-Lago New Years Eve party. As a child of the 90s you can’t fathom how awesome that is. Beyond that I got the birthday shoutout so that’s pretty amazing," he captioned it. One of Trump Jr.'s sons also attended the bash.

Although most of the members of the Trump family were dressed to the nines at the bash, perhaps the one who stole the show -- from the rare pictures that started popping up on social media -- was Lara Trump who donned a glitzy green outfit with a single sleeve and cut at strategical areas.

The ballroom where the party took place was decorated with white floral arrangements and candles encased in a sculpture meant to look like the New Year's Eve ball. Tables of 10 were set out, which did not follow the social distancing norms. The menu consisted of "Mr. Trump's Wedge Salad," cheese tortellini and Wagyu beef.
