'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 13: Who is Utica? Meet the single queen who's looking for a spouse on the show
Every year, there's one queen who makes no bones about going OTT. This season, it's Utica Queen, whose Instagram handle is proof enough that she comes with a drag aesthetic that is not just creative but also off-beat.
The 25-year-old Minneapolis resident grew up on a farm and is absolutely attached to the "hometown-ness" that she picked up growing up. Elaborating on it, she said her drag is inspired by the cattle, livestock, and everything that a farm has to offer. While going on about how she enjoys including a "smack" of color and the fact that there will always be duality in her creations, Utica also shared how people should not be surprised if they ever see her covered in manure (which would go on to become one of her looks).
She calls herself a designer and fine artist, who is able to draw inspiration from Russian painter and art theorist Wassily Kandinsky's works and gothic architecture. "A lot of my fashion is very Tim Burton but also old Biblical painting."
But expressing herself through fashion is not Utica's only goal as a participant of 'RuPaul's Drag Race'. She hopes to make new sisters, adding that since she's single she could also find herself a husband or a wife, or one of those two.
Meanwhile, fans cannot wait to see her sashay down the runway.
"Utica, looks like Gigi Goode but acts and sounds like Thorgy Thor - it’s the combo I didn’t know I needed," a fan commented on the show's official YouTube channel, while another shared: "Utica saying "Bonkers!" was absolutely adorable. "I know we don't come here to make friends but I really wanna make friends" I love her. Love love love her."
"I was getting Yvie Oddly from the first two seconds on she is already one of my favorites," a viewer expressed. "At first I was like, but by the end of it I was like OMG SHE’S SO PURE AND PRECIOUS PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS," another pointed out.
'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 13 premieres on January 1, 2021, on VH1 starting 8/7c. For more information, check your local listings.
